About Me

If you ever wanted to be a Beastie Boy, driven a motorcycle over 150 miles per hour, sang badly in the shower, think skiing in Alaska can be considered a religious experience, frequent art galleries, know the difference between a djembe and a conga, behave well in airports, think that champagne is a central sunday brunch item, can get ready to go out in under twenty minutes, have decanted a bottle of wine in a coffee pot, played any drum until your hands were bleading, enjoy playing a friendly game of cards, would vote for George Carlin if he ran for president, think there should be tax incentives for people to form family businesses, enjoy playing with matches, your ideal spatula is 186cm long and made by Volant, think that the Cayenne diluted the Porsche marque, give your change to street musicians, can handle your vices, have been thrown out of at least one school ("invited to leave" counts), think there should be a "grilling" merit badge, appreciate that KT22 is the greatest chairlift in the country, see that hinges MUST match the door hardware, if a majority of your wardrobe "wicks", can run fast and confidently with scissors, think Stuart Copeland is a tamboric genious, spend quality time doodling AND have a healthy fear of our political administration... we'll more than likely get along.

My Interests

Professional dabbler with a particular affinity for anything worth tapping on. Actually I have been playing the drums for nearly twenty years and enjoy playing kit, djembe, cajun and other world percussion. I have a skiing disorder. I also enjoy waterskiing, hiking, mountain biking, climbing, kayaking and trying new things all the time. I consider myself a jack of all trades, master of none... and I don't think that's a bad thing.

Books:

I just finished "After Fidel" by Brian Latell... a US senior analysts view on what's next for the Cuba... a worthy read even if you just want to read about all of our government's creative ways we've tried to kill the guy (my fav having to be sending him a case of cigars infused with botchulism)... before that "Lost Mountain" by Erik Reese which every environmentalist (especially from KY) should read regarding the devastation of the Appalachian Mountains and Forest (second oldest on the planet) and how f*#ked it is that our current administration's energy policy is fueling these bad decisions that take advantage of poor people who have no voice... and before that... Augusten Burroughs' "Magical Thinking" which reminded me of watching Jerry Springer, all the while thinking to myself... "well if this guy is this whacked then I must be suuuper normal."

Heroes:

Songwriters, healers and independant thinkers.
