Roderick Falconer was the Appalachian’s response to David Bowie, and he combined the sound of Aladdin Sane/Diamond Dogs with an image more akin to the Thin White Duke (and appearing just as Bowie himself was moving into his Berlin phase.)
His 1976 New Nation LP was a fantastic collection produced by Gary Brooker. The Peter Ivers produced follow-up, Victory in Rock City, wasn't quite as strong, but it did include his most loved song of all, "Victory".
