TRaviSTYBiography of “The One and Onlyâ€.........Travisty is not just a Rapper, he is a lyricist with a perspective on life unlike most artists and rappers you hear today. At the age of 29, he has literally been rapping for more than half his life. Travisty was born Travis Lee Bannister in Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas during a Dallas Cowboys football game. But nothing would change his life more than his love for music. “Music has always been a huge influence for meâ€. From the southern rock sounds of bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd to the street life sounds of N.W.A., Travisty soaked it all in. His very first performance was his 4th grade talent show, which he won. From that point on, it was obvious that he was on to something. Mind you the only other white rappers at the time were the Beastie Boys who were well into their careers. Coming from a broken home, Travisty used Hip Hop as an outlet for his aggression. Although it sounds ironic, Travisty truly understands what it’s like to be hated and judged for the color of your skin. “Man, I’ve been booed just for walking on the stageâ€. “Your color should never define what your capable of doingâ€. Travisty grew up very poor and always felt that his ticket out would be his gift of gab. Unlike most rappers, his content does not reflect money, cars, cash, and clothes but thrives on his personal experiences throughout the journey of his formative years and adulthood. “You’ll never see me with a grill in my mouth or a diamond studded chain, because it just isn’t meâ€. “Maybe that’ll stop me from succeeding in this rap game, but I have to be me because that’s all I knowâ€. If your looking for the same watered down Hip Hop rapper, than Travisty claims his music is not for you. But if your looking for a real life perspective, take a few minutes and listen and you might be surprised with what you hear. Travisty hasn’t just arrived, he’s always been here and doesn’t plan on leaving. “I love what I do, and it’s the love of what I do that keeps me focusedâ€. After the murder of his father by 15 bullets from his hometown Dallas and Irving, Texas Police Department, Travisty took a three-year break from music. Being one of Travisty’s biggest fans, he knew that his father would want him to continue his love of music. Sitting in his garage, Travisty was messing around with a track and was confronted by a guy who would convince him to give music one more chance. Brett Rogers who started his own record label AudioTech Records asked him to drop by his studio where they recorded their first song together. Since then Travisty has found himself once again and says, “Music is my therapy and if I don’t have music I would go crazy. I don’t do it for the money, I do it because my soul tells me I have to do itâ€. Look past his color and listen to his heart and you will know TRaviSTY.. width="425" height="350" ..
