She is the daughter of Andrew and Arlene Latona and has one brother, Jason, who's 25 years old. She also has 2 half-sisters, Mary-Anne and Sandy, and 1 half-brother, Tom.Every since Amanda can remember she has been singing. When she was 15, the Latona family moved down to Orlando Florida. When Amanda and Jason first moved to Orlando they didn't know anyone so they would hang out at Universal Studios a lot. It was there that they met, then 19 year old Joey Fatone, who performed at the Universal show "Bride of Frakeinstein". While hanging out at Universal they also met Chris Kirkpatrick, who sang in the Hollywood Hi-Tones, "He came up to me and said 'Hi I'm Chris and I'm single.' ", says Amanda. Amanda had auditioned for the Hollywood Hi-Tones, they sang to ya while you ate, and she got the job. Amanda also auditioned for the show "Bride of Frankeinstein" and would've been casted except...you had to be 18 to be in the show and Amanda was only 15. Amanda later auditioned when she was 18, got the job and worked there about 4 years. During her time working there, Amanda portreyed many characters besides the Bride of Frankeinstein; such as, Belle from Beauty and the Beast, Ariel from The Little Mermaid, and Esmerelda from The Hunch Back of Notre Dame.During the 1997-1998 years Amanda was involved in an all girls singing group called Innosense. 75 girls sent in video tapes auditioning for the group. The group was managed by Lynn Harless (Justin Timberlake's mother). Innosense was originally formed of Amanda Latona, Nikki DeLoach, Britney Spears, Danay Ferrer, and Mandy Ashford. All the Girls ended up being connected to the group 'N Sync in someway. Amanda worked with Joey and Chris, Nikki and Britney had been in the Mickey Mouse Club with Justin and J.C., Danay went to school with Joey, and Mandy went to school with Lance. Britney later left the group and current member Veronica Finn took her place. Veronica had hung out with the same group of friends as Justin. The Girls spent a lot of time overseas, living in Munich, Germany. They toured with 'N Sync and played many shows at the House of Blues and did many benifit concerts such as Orlando Bands Together. While Amanda was in Innosense they released one single, "Wherever You Are" in 1998. During this time, Amanda had begun dating A.J. McLean of the Backstreet Boys, who she was with for over 2 years. In December 1998 Amanda left Innosense. Many people still wonder why Amanda left. Many fans were upset, like myself, because Amanda was their favorite. She completed the group. Amanda told me herself why she choose to leave, and I'm so proud of her that she did. She has great morals! One things for sure...they defenitly lost a very special and very talented person. Innosense was never the same without her, eventually disbanneding altogether in 2001.When Amanda decided to go solo she started recording demo songs, such as, "I Wish Me You" and "As Long As You Stay With Me" in 2000. Soon after Amanda got with her manager, Larry, she began auditioning for several record companies. One of the labels she auditioned for was J Records. Clive Davis loved her and signed her after only 10 minutes! In the summer of 2002 Amanda released her first single, "Can't Take It Back". The song was great, however, it never got the promotion it deserved. The only promotion the song really got was when during YM Magazine's Fashion tour in which Amanda performed. The song was also featured in an ABC Family movie entitled, She Gets What She Wants (originally titled, Slap her, She's French!) "Do You Still" was Amanda's second single released April of 2003. The song did do better than the first but still isn't getting much promotion. REQUEST IT!!!! During this time, Amanda also was in several magazines, including the New York Times music magazine. Amanda was kind of dragged along by J records. Her album was done and ready to go but J records and Amanda decided to part ways, along with several other J Artists. Not to worry...Amanda has so much talent, nothing will stop her!Amanda had been working with a fitness trainer and thought it would be cool to do contest...it took her farther than she thought and at the end of the contest she was standing next to her fitness idol. Amanda said that when she started training she brought a picture out of a magazine to her trainer and said she wanted to get to get her body looking close to that. Amanda looked up to Margaret Diubaldo all while she was training and then she said it was so cool to be standing next to her in the end. In November of 2003, Amanda competed with 25 other women in the Fitness and Modeling Expo held in Tampa. She won 2nd place! She had scored a 42 in the Fitness Round, 32 in the swimwear Round, and a 41 in the Club Round. She scored the higher than everyone else in the Fitness and Club Rounds! As you can tell by the pictures, Amanda trained extremely hard for the competition.After the FAME competitions, Amanda layed low and spent a lot of time with her family. She still continues to work on her music career with her manager Larry. However, Amanda believes that everything will come at the right time. She continues to inspire her fans all around the world.
