About Me

I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V3.6 !
Hi! My name is Yves Giraud... Originaly born in France, I've been living in the states for the past 19 years or so and I have been a citizen since 1997. I am a solo performer as well as a lbass player/singer in a south Florida band. As a solo act, I play classic, nylon string guitar over my own tracks. Sort of a blend of smooth jazz and ambient melodic new age. In the band, I play bass and sing. For those of you who know me, I was, until recently, the lead singer/bassist for local band JADESTONE, a polished Pop/rock original band that had been playing across south Florida fo the past 8 years: (www.jadestoneband.com / www.myspace.com/jadestone2). For no other reason than my personal need to pursue a new path in my life, I recently joined 'the Spoon Benders', another local band (www.thespoonbenders.net and www.myspace.com/spoonbenders). I invite you to check both bands as they have wonderful talent and music to offer! But this site is for my solo endeavor. I have been performing in various restaurants and ambient cafes across south Florida, playing guitar. The recent change in my music career may not allow me to concentrate on my solo project anymore but I certainly hope you'll enjoy what you see and hear! Within the years to come I intend to record more material, full songs and instrumentals (such as the ones on this page), in hope to discover more about myself, my creative soul and grow in my music as well as in my life. Feel free to leave comments, good or bad, and I will reply, I promise! Have a great one! Peace!!!Please listen/review/purchase my new CD "Flow" on sale now at www.CDBaby.com/YvesGiraud. Band Members: Me, myself and I :)It's not that I want to do it all, but sometimes it's just the way it goes. Throughout the years, I've had the opportunity to play different instruments with different bands, bass, keyboards/piano, guitar, lead vocals and even some drums. So when it came to recording these songs, I just did it myself. I must say I would rather have a full band to do it, the experience of playing with people is so much more fullfiling, but the current band I am in, the Spoon Benders, is a completely different format. 3 piece rock/blues/funk band, not the right setup for these songs.Anyway, some of the music I write is rooted in fairly conventional progressions but I think the melodies and the feel I try to bring across are what make these songs unique, most of all. I hope you'll enjoy them.I also currently play bass and sing (backups) in a rock band, The Spoon Benders. This is where I got dubbed "the french spoon" ...For MORE BAND INFO & UPDATED BAND SCHEDULE, Please bookmark this site: www.TheSpoonBenders.net or visit: View The Spoon Benders's EPK
Influences: I really don't know but I'm sure my younger years of listening to my Mom playing the piano at home, back in France and my collection of Prince (yep, I love his music, absolutely genius!!) had something to do with it. The truth is, I really don't listen to much. I don't think I own more than 25 CDs, and most of them were gifts, not neccessarely what I like. So who knows?
Sounds Like: - Godi - Peter White - I don't know...
