Biography Vell was born Lavell Lorenzo James in West Philadelpia in 1985. The same city as his child hood idol Will Smith. He enjoyed his time in Philadelphia with his father, mother, sister, and 3 brothers. Though his time in Philadelphia would be brief. At the age of 5 he moved across the bridge to Camden, NJ with his mother, sister, and 3 brothers leaving his father behind. He quickly became friends with all the kids in the neighborhood. As he aged and grew mentally ready he attended Cooper's Poynt Middle School in Camden. During his time at Cooper's Poynt he became well known in the neighbor for his skills in foortball. Always being the first one chosen he was branded "The Young Jerry Rice". It was also during his time at Cooper's Poynt when Lavell Suffered some major losses in his life off of the football field. At a young age and in a span of just a few years Lavell attended five funerals. At the age of 12 he suffered the loss of his father. Followed by the death of his father were the deaths of a cousin, an auntm great grandmom, and the most important loss...the loss of his mother at the age of 13. At the time, the only person he really had..was gone. Lavell Finally bounced back and went on to graduate from the 8th grade in the year 2000 with a smile on his face knowing that his mother was looking down on him. Once he graduated middle school he wanted to go into high school with a new look. He decided to let his hair grow. Like Allen Iverson, Lavell wanted braids. Lavell Attended Camden County Technical School also known as Penn Tech. During his freshman year he met his first love. Someone he would remember for the rest of his life no matter how things turned out for them. He'll never forget the first love of his life. He can never forget her because she's the reason he wants to be an actor. She didn't ask him to become an actor. She didn't suggest that he become an actor. She simply bought him a book. A book on the life of Julia Roberts and once he was through reading it he just knew acting was the thing for him. In 2004 he graduted from high school with a clear mind and a bright future. He then attended Camden County College for 2 years as a Theatre Major. Lavell continues to work on his craft today. He studies all types of acting to sharpen his skills. He watches all kinds of movies of today as well as all kinds of movies of the past. He studies every level of acting all the way from student films up to feature films. Lavell believes that every performance is a great performance therefore its something he doesn't want to miss. As he sharpens his skills he learns more and more every day. Never taking a second off Lavell will be working on his craft today, tomorrow, and even the next day. So if I were you...I'd keep an eye on him if I were you...
