About Toan Tran: I am currently an Optometry Student in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Yes, I'm better known as Super T or DJ Super T, but this is my career that I am pursuing. When it comes down to what I want to do for the rest of my life, I want to help people see better and prevent anyone's loss of vision. Being a great Eye Doctor is not just a job, it's a life long goal.
About Super T: I received the Nick Name "Super T" through the HYF Family back in college. We were at our prime as a promotions and production crew in the Entertainment Industry and I was the President of HYF Austin at the time; later promoted to Chief of Operations of all of HYF. During these years, I had a harsh College Schedule: 15 hours a semester, Executive positions in Clubs and Organizations on Campus and also working part-time at an Optometrist Office. But at that age, energy was in abundance and I was motivated to excel at everything that I did. My friends noticed that drive in me, presenting me with the Super T Award during an HYF Banquet.
About DJ Super T: I became a Disc Jockey/Producer sometime around the year 2000. The Break Beat scene was at it's peak and music was already a childhood passion for me, so getting involves with DJing was inevitable. What really got me into DJing was my interaction with the DJ's that I had already worked with. I was in charge of recruiting and organizing all the HYF DJs and promoting them. But for me to better understand their point of view and how the music scene revolved around them, I decided to become one of them. With the help of DJ Single, DJ Daveed, DJ Dis B John, DJ GReddy, DJ Slim Tim, DJ Taboo, DJ Ghostchild and DJ dFLy and of course my partner, DJ Prada G, I learned the necessities of producing music and Mixing Music. As time went on, I loved spinning in front of a crowd and just being able to make the bodies on the dance floor move. You, as the DJ become the party. The scene is always changing, and as a DJ you have to adapt. Learning to spin is an artform that you have to put your heart into. It's not about the fame, it's not about the girls, it's not about the groupies or the money, it's about the music. All of those other things just seem to come with it. =)
