Daniëlla

When I was 14 I joined two talent contests in England. I won both, but the funny thing was, they didn't call me Daniëlle (which is my real name) but Daniëlla. I liked that so much, that I decided to use Daniëlla as my artist name. Since the age of 3 I went to ballet class. I started dancing my own choreographies at the age of 8. At that same age I directed a self written schoolplay, starring me as Zorro. But the children in my class wouldn't listen to what I told them to do so I ended up crying in the arms of our teacher. I performed a lot during both primary school and highschool, most of the time with my own choreographies. I joined schoolplays, playbackshows, talent contests, even church choirs... Very often it was also me designing the posters and writing reviews about the shows. When I was 10 I was nominated for the 'Trouw PersAward' with a drawing that I made about the rights of children. At that age I also started my own dance club with a couple of friends. I called it 'KISS' which was supposed to mean 'Key Into the Specialty of Songs'. At the age of 12 I was 2nd at the 'Freedom after war' drawing competition by 'Sinaii Centrum'. That same year I was the choreographer, director, art director and stylist when performing with all my 30 classmates at 'Vredenburg' in Utrecht to join the 'Heartdance' competition. I've played the flute since I was 10, keyboard since I was 14 and the guitar since I was 18. At highschool I had art and art history as most important courses and I graduated best of my school. Unfortunately I've also suffered from anorexia, basically from the age of 10 until the age of 18. I was hospitallized 7 times but nothing seemed to help. That I did recover in the end was like a miracle and I am endlessly grateful for this second chance. I want to be a role model for myself and every other person out there who suffered/suffers from an eating disorder. That's why I started modeling. As an artist I am working on several things at the moment, like doing vocals for some great projects, writing a book and painting. Keep on checking my profile for news and updates!!!
