adventuring, annoying the neighbours, art, astrology, the beat generation, body modification, bohemianism, books, cheesecake (especially for breakfast!), coffee, culture jamming, existentialism, feminism, film, freedom, gin (yeah, I love my booze), glittery and sparkly things, hedonism, independence, inebriated dancing, karaoke, late nights, libertarianism, life-long education, literature, long showers, making friends with strangers, MUSIC(listening, playing, attending), people who give great text (messages, that is), philosophy, photography (particularly black and white), poetry (particularly dangerous poetry - and if you don't think poetry can be dangerous, you ain't reading the right kinds of poetry!), poetic perrorism (ask me how!), quantum physics (yes, really), riot grrrl, sarcasm, satire, sex, singing, sleeping in, sociology, tarot, vampires, walking in the rain (if you ask me if I like Pina Coladas too, I may just have to kill you), wine, writing, zines.
People who love to dance and live it up to top tunes. Tapdancing space monkeys and evil rubber chickens. Or anyone, really.
Ack! Can anyone really answer this question properly! I listen to a really, REALLY wide range of stuff. I doubt I could list them all. So, I guess I'll just list the stuff that I find myself listening to over and over again when I'm at home on my own... A Perfect Circle, David Bowie, Depeche Mode, Goldfrapp, Jeff Buckley, Nick Cave, Pink Floyd, Placebo, Portishead, Ryan Adams, Sheryl Crow, Sia Furler, Stabbing Westward, Supreme Beings of Leisure, The Beatles, The Cure, The Doors, Tori Amos and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. When I DJ, I play a wide range of rock, metal, indie, alternative, pop and electro favourites both old and new. I'm also a fan of Jazz and Blues, particularly my girls Nina, Billie, Ella, Peggy and Sarah. Locally, I support COCK and brillig!
Picking favourite movies is just as hard as naming my favourite music. I like a lot of movies, but I guess my absolute ultimate favourites would be: Labyrinth, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Heathers, Pulp Fiction, Bram Stoker's Dracula, Romeo + Juliet, Fight Club, Natural Born Killers, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Amelie and Cabaret as well as my new favourite Across The Universe (check it out people - it's AWESOME!). I'm also a bit of a softie when it comes to musicals (if you couldn't already tell...).
I try not to watch much television. Besides, there isn't much on that's a) interesting and b) doesn't make you feel as if you've lost IQ points while watching it. Besides that... Red Dwarf, Black Books, Daria, The Simpsons, Futurama, Family Guy, American Dad, Happy Tree Friends, Robot Chicken, Good News Week. I also have a disturbing addiction to Dr Phil, Huey's cooking adventures and Antiques Roadshow.
There have been too many books that have gone into shaping who I am and how I think today for me to remember them all. But, if I had to choose, my favourite author would always be Margaret Atwood and my favourite poet is Charles Bukowski, always Bukowski. Also, anyone who writes a really good trashy vampire novel!
People who are honest. People who stand up for themselves. People who speak out. People who are independent. People who are strong. People who know how to take responsibility for their own lives. People who know what to fight for and when to back down. People with passion. People who follow their hopes and dreams despite the negativity of others. People who read like they breathe air. People who write because they don't know how to stop. People who love indiscriminately. People who live life as fully and authentically as they are able. All the beautiful, amazing and talented people that I am priviliged to know.
