The basic list. Art, music, literature, things that smell good, shiny objects, acting, theatre, and anything that people tell me not to.
OOOooooooo! So many! Umm... Johnny Cash, The Pixies, Radiohead, Firewater, Rancid, Billy Bragg, Marvin Gaye, Billie Holiday, Patsy Kline, Patty Smith, The Killers, Muse, The Arcade Fire, The Streets, The Cardigans, The French Kicks, Interpol, The Notwist, The Cure, The Clash, George Clinton, The Postal Service, Modest Mouse, Sleater Kinney, Bob Dylan, Cat Stevens, Broken Social Scene, Ryan Adams, The Hives, The Strokes, Violent Femmes, Libertines, Prince... not to mention Acedia, Allview, The Meek, the bOA, and many more.
Again, there are many. Almost Famous. Iron Giant. American History X. Usual Suspects. Seven. Amelie. Anything Muppet. Royal Tennenbaums. Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead. High Fidelity. Donnie Darko. Baraka. E.T. Gremlins. Dead Poets Society. Basquiat. Lost in Translation. Virgin Suicides. Fight Club.
My favorite show to listen to but not actually watch is CSI Miami. It's as close as you'll come to an old detective radio serial. Seriously. Try it sometime.
Tom Robbins, Dalton Trumbo, Vonnegut, Irving, Crane's poetry... I like to think of myself as the type of person who would read non-fiction but in reality I very rarely do. I have a fascination with any book which has ever been banned. Mostly though, I'll read anything anyone ever hands me.
...and people who find what they are good at and then do it on purpose.
