learning, reading, critiquing, faith, being with my buds!!, mornings, strange food!, great kisses!, stealthy sarcasm, effective communicators and writers, radical politics, theology, feminism, psychological inquiry, history (modern, religious, economic and theory - no interest in ancient), evolving, the mountains, freedom, cycling, strong coffee, dogs, hats, changing my furniture, painting, and playing a piano.
Trailblazers. Otherwise I'd like to meet younger versions of my parents, God, and Lord willing, a man that will feed me (which is not an easy task!) Nancy Pelosi, Hillary Clinton, Chris Martin...
Well I grew up in church so my heart belongs to Soul. Otherwise - Coldplay, Oasis, India Arie, Tori Amos, anything involving a piano :), and a song writer; The Clash, Regina Spektor, John Legend, Incubus, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Prince, Lynard Skynard, Queen, The Beatles, ACDC, Guns and Roses, Alice in Chains. Aerosmith and Pearl Jam.Owell, I guess that is the "wild" side.
"Iris," "Out of Africa", "Sophie's Choice", "The Hours", "Little Women", female "heroines" are good. I liked "Great Expecations" and certainly "Sylvia." Tragic heroines are interesting. Literary figures are moving. I do like "Silence of the Lambs," "Seven" and a very good historical theme movie such as "Shindler's List" or "Swingkids" as well.
My newest guilty pleasure is "Two and Half Men" every night with Jim. Sienfeld, discovery health specials, sex and the city, the wonder years, project runway, work-out, well most anything on BRAVO, otherwise anthing that doesn't flash or tick!!! Recently discovered South Park....that is some clever writing.
Anything on religion and politics, otherwise "The New Empire," the classic Lafeber work! "Whiteness of a Different Color," "The Night Trilogy" by Elie Wiesel, "Five Sisters", "The Sexual Politics of Meat", Virginia Wolfe's "Memoirs of Being", "Auschwitz", "Moving Beyond Words", "The Marx-Engels Reader", Andrea Dworkin's "Intercourse" and "Pornography," "1984", "The Joy Luck Club", Charlotte Bronte's "Vilette". Psalms, Proverbs, some of the gospels and most of the epistles. "The Metaphysical Club", "Nature's Metropolis," "The Second Sex" and anything by Alexandra Kollantai.
My mother and her mother. James Keenan."She would be a woman who did not exist to embody male sexual fantasies or rely upon a man to endow her with identity and social status, a woman who did not have to be beautiful, who could be clever, who would grow in authority as she aged." - Germaine Greer "The Whole Woman"I guess that it a lot to ask for in a hero. :) MyGen Profile Generator
