I'm currently spending most of my time caring for a generally fun and loving toddler. My background is fine art, and I'd like to think that I'll spend time doing that again some day, but for the time being, I'm happy if I can spend one hour in the evenings without a baby hanging on me. Yeah, that's pretty much it.

My Interests

Other than caring for my beautiful little girl? Hmmm... Collecting cookbooks (and occasionally cooking from them), learning how to garden in my huge backyard, riding on Ferries and eating the awesome clam chowder they always have, talking on the phone (when I'm in the mood), listening to trivia shows on NPR, listening to NPR in general, yoga (when I can get myself to do it. Flexible? no.), going to the zoo with my baby and handsome hubby, I used to dirt bike...haven't done that in awhile... um, travel would be fun too...but hanging out with my kooky friends is always better anyway. I'd like to meet:

I don't have time to meet anybody, I just want to keep the few friends I have, if at all possible.

Music:

I like most things that I can dance to with my little girl. Tito Puente, Lois Prima, calypso, Mambo Kings, bluegrass, Happy Baby ABC, Philladelphia Chickens, Country Swing, anything my hubby puts on a cd for me, as long as it's not what he usually listens to... luckily he knows what I like...

Movies:

I love movies, all kinds for all different reasons! I've been watching The Jungle Book a lot lately - Louis prima, can't beat that! Howl's Moving Castle is really good (as is Spirited Away) Too many others to mention, not that I've had time to watch a movie in months (except for The Jungle Book).

Television:

I hate commercials, but will watch a good series on DVD - currently it's 6 feet under. Love it! (Thanks, Emma!)

Books:

I love all kinds of books, mainly but not entirely novels. Lately I've been reading Anchee Min (currently Madame Mao), and I might have to get a good biography of Mao after that...Also I'm reading Harvest for Hope by Jane Goodall, but I can only read a little at a time because it makes me depressed. Don't bother with The Chronicles of Narnia - I read them because I remember reading some of them as a kid, and I watched the movie version of Narnia, but C.S. Lewis gets more and more churchy with each book, until he might as well been writing The Chronicles of Jesus. How annoying.
