Stomp Records was founded way back in 1994 with the release of the now legendary All-Skanadian Club Volume 1 compilation. The whole idea behind Stomp was to give the growing number of Canadian ska bands a home where they could get the support they deserved and hook up with other bands across North America.Shortly after the release of the All-Ska 1, the Planet Smashers released their first self-titled album which met with tons of critical acclaim. Releases from The Kingpins, Flashlight, The Undercovers, JFK & The Conspirators, Skavenjah among others followed along with two more installments in the All-Skanadian series and follow up albums from The Planet Smashers and The Kingpins. As Stomp began to broaden it’s horizon US bands like The New York Ska Jazz Ensemble and Chris Murray joined the roster. After nearly 9 years of blood , sweat and a lot of tears, you can find Stomp releases in Canada, The USA, South America, Japan, Australia and all of Europe.Stomp prides itself on being a truly independent, artist-friendly label that works way more like a family than a business. With a slew of new releases and tours planned from a bunch of incredibly talented ska bands coming up in the next year, Stomp continues to promote and release quality ska music in all it’s varying styles regardless of current musical trends.
