[Concept]…//Nasty Angels is a way of saying that, in this world, there are things both good and bad. It’s not just a random name; it clearly transmits the sensation of decadence and violence of Genesis Aime’s music. With the intention of always maintaining complete artistic freedom, he combines in his project Electronic Body Music, Noise, Dark Electro; and the most important components of the project: Industrial, and hard Electro in order to take your minds off of the daily violence that lives in this world, //...[Influences]…//Nasty Angels is a project particularly influenced by the electronic music that has made a huge development between 1997 and 2003. Some of the groups in particular are Hocico, Cenobita, Mq03, Maniaka Expansion, Amduscia, Planet Pop, C-Lekktor, Ogo+Leda, Encefalisis, Combichrist, Xotox y Acid Trauma, //...[History]…//Carlos Alberto was born and raised in the Distrito Federal (D.F), also known as Mexico City. When he was twelve, he formed an obsession with music like his cousin, Louis Fernando. They realized they were a perfect match for this idea right away. Genesis Aime (who in reality was Carlos, but at this time he was under the name Karina Dietrich) with his music, lyrics, and philosophy, and Luis Fernando with his unique drum style. They were the founders of the group Karina Dietrich and the Dead Kids. From the beginning, it was clear that they didn’t want to be the typical unknown band that moves around those drunken venues in front of only fifteen or twenty people. It wasn’t just that. They had much higher ambitions. They had a message to send. A serious band that would put out in the open the values and defects of society in general. So, in 2003 is when an unprecedented story began in the underground world: Karina Dietrich and the Dead Kids was born. The band (under its original name) started, and played covers of Rammstein, Lacrimosa, and Marilyn Manson. The band had two components structured in the following form: singer and drummer. After a short time they found a new member, Breb the guitarist. That was where Karina Dietrich and the Dead Kids began the creation of their own music style being that of a Rock/Industrial band with some Black Metal influences. This first idea didn’t take long to fall apart. The failure was mainly due to a lack of dedication between some members of the group. In 2004, the group Technocidio sprang forth with Karina (Carlos), and Felipe on the keyboards. What we know today as Nasty Angels started to take its form even though Felipe didn’t last long in the group, and he was quickly replaced by Alba. Karina Dietrich changed his name to Genesis Aime, and the name of the project became Nasty Angels. Their first big break was bumping into Diego Trauma. In that same year, Diego and his project, Acid Trauma, played at Genesis Aime’s school. Diego Trauma went ahead and showed a couple of songs to Genesis Aime. 2003 was when they completed their first demo which included nine tracks: Mi Navaja, Caos, Antichrist, Cerveza, Aberracion Humana, Ayudame, Lagrimas de Cristal, En la Sombra del Valle de la Muerte, and Recuerdo. This demo was just a small sample of the happenings of the real world: suicide, death, deprivation, hate, and supposed love, with clean and harrowing vocals in the Black Metal style. That year, they had the opportunity to play at the Teatro Carlos Pellicer, and again in 2004. Also, Nasty Angels was presented in two alternative music festivals: Escandalo UVM, and Rotten Festival. Almost without realizing it, the year 2005 was passing exactly like the previous year with a new demo and more concerts at small venues to expand their fan base. The new demo was under the name “Desencadenamiento Agresor,†and it included 11 tracks: Traumas de una Tierna Adolescente(posesion), Agresive Desintoxication, Violenta Realidad, The Fucking Antichrist Insane, Mientras Más le Temas a Tu Dios, Por que me Deveria de importar?, Maldito Dios, Señor Mierda, Esclavos, What is the point, and Desencadenamiento Agresor. However, Alba left the group and it was Genesis Aime in charge. So now Nasty Angels is Genesis Aime on vocals, lyrics, mixing, and keyboards. 2006 was a benchmark in Nasty Angels’ career in the scene. The final demo under the name, Infekt@ was released which included a version of Aberracion Humana. Also important in 2006 was the recording of the first single, Sexo Sucio, and the recording of the first full CD produced by Diego Trauma.
