Experienced teen & young adult counselor

About Me

Although I make my living as an electronic systems manufacturer, I like to volunteer my college training in psychology and counseling to help young people. In my spare time, I'm also a contract editor and technical textbook author for an international publisher.I have one son, now 27 and just home from Baghdad with the US Army. Last month he married his college sweetheart! I have also been legal guardian to three troubled kids, long ago.I'm early fifties, going gray too soon because I don't otherwise look that old!!

My Interests

Backpacking, volunteering, reading, electronics, boating, history, writing fiction and non-fiction, travel. I used to do quite a bit of winter mountaineering here in New Hampshire before a back injury took the fun out of it.

I'd like to meet:

Young adults and teens who need someone to talk to about life, relationships, sex, parents, school, career choices, gender issues and anything else you need to get sorted out in your own mind. Or we can just talk about anything you chose. On-line only - I will never ask to meet you in person. A face picture would be nice tho! During the last few months I've been working with three transgendered teens from around the country, and it's been very interesting.I'd also like to talk with people of any age with interests similar to mine. In the field of psychology, my long-time interest has been the development of self-image and personality - the age-old nature vs. nurture question.
