About Me

Ah. Time to change from the old "I'm FABULOUS" thing, so here I am. But where to begin? How can you sum up a lifetime or a personality in only a few paragraphs? I'll give it a shot on this profile page, I suppose, but for more "in-depth" stuff, read my blogs; I blog like a fiend (sometimes)!
Let's see. I live in Las Vegas (and HATE it but can't imagine living anywhere else), I cry every time I watch Olive's dance scene in "Little Miss Sunshine" (despite the fact that I've seen it probably 30 times!), and I make a mean hamburger pot pie. I've seen the movie "Vacation" just thousands of times but I still think it's hilarious, I love Nutella (I eat it straight from the jar with a fork!), and there is at least one ghost haunting my home. It bangs on cupboards, knocks things onto the floor in the kitchen, etc., and though I've never seen it (or heard it speak...), I know it's a youngish (20's) male, and somewhat mischievous! I won't start being bothered until he either does something dangerous, appears, or SPEAKS to me! Obviously, I would not like ANY of the above - but he can knock on the cupboards all the wants...
I love thunderstorms, I am hypersensitive to smell and sound (among other senses) and I'm a fabulous cook! I love, love, LOVE music, particularly jazz, British soul and disco/funk! I think Ricky Gervais is beyond GENIUS, and the funniest, most touching and thoroughly satisfying TV special - OF ALL TIME - was "The Office" (BBC version, obviously)! If you haven't seen it, do yourself the favor and watch the entire series. It's only 12 episodes, and then the special, and it's AMAZING. Until you see it, you haven't really lived!
I'm fiercely proud of my Norwegian heritage (ja, jeg er Norsk!), I am a singer, an actress, a model, an activist and just basically interested in a little bit of everything. I worked for many years in the entertainment industry but was WAY sick of it long before leaving. Now I'm ensconced and engrossed in an equally fascinating field and am, in fact, studying for the Series 7, 63, 65 and 66 exams! Hurrah! Too exciting for words!
I became an orphan in Nov. 2007, when my dad died. The slow, on-going realization of his death continues to devastate me, (even though I'm carrying on remarkably well, even if I do say so myself), but also gave me the indescribable, exquisite freedom of NOT having any family whatsoever. But I'm not alone in the world. No, I'm lucky enough to have some truly spectacular friends; they are very unusual, gifted, talented, creative, silly, crazy and just plain FABULOUS creatures who enrich my life immeasurably. They allow me to be free, to be who (Kristen) and what (Norwegian) I am, and I relish every moment spent with them.
NOW - even though Hollywood, Las Vegas and TMZ (and ALL those bullshit "entertainment magazine" shows on TV) would have you believe otherwise, TALENT really does MATTER.
I love this man:
I CANNOT HELP IT: the following is one of the funniest things I have ever seen (and heard!) in my entire life. It truly keeps me awake at night, lying in bed thinking about it and laughing so hard, the bed shakes! I literally laugh myself to sleep! WHY? Well, WATCH. (Check out Lawrence's face. And hey, there's NOTHING like the sensual sounds of the ACCORDION to get a girl in the mood.)
GOD, I love a man who's good with his fingers...
One of the most glorious voices ever to grace this world was that of Dusty Springfield, shown here with Burt Bacharach. Simply astonishing:
That's right, baby: Shake Your Body (Down To The Ground)!
Where I live:
Your Hidden Talent
You are very knowledgeable and creative. You tend to be full of new ideas and potential - big potential. Ideas like yours could change the world, if you build them. As long as you don't stop working on your dreams, you'll get there. What's Your Hidden Talent?

My Interests

Don't these look just like ballerinas?! I don't know what the photographer named this piece, but I'm going to christen it "Tulips In Arabesque."

My fantasy is to live inside a Flavia Weedn greeting card , and to have a never-ending supply of perfectly ripe fresh fruit. I also fantasize about having a room full of Swarovski crystals of all shapes, sizes and colors; I would like a bathtub full of them (and I WOULD get into it just to bathe in crystal, scratches and cuts be damned!). Speaking (writing!) of bathtubs, my fantasy is to have an authentic Roman tub -- square, deep, large, and in the middle of the floor, big enough to swim in! Love it!

I also want at least one room in my house to have mirrored walls, floor-to-ceiling, AND a lighted disco floor with multiple, moveable levels, as seen in Jamiroquai's "Little L" video. (And I want all those people to be present, too...) Further accoutrements will include the lighting rig, of course, and several mirror balls, etc. Hell, I might even purchase a neon moon, sans cocaine spoon, ala Studio 54. Yeah, the neighbors oughtta LOVE THAT.

Lastly, I would love to have my very own Slurpee machine, which would dispense cherry, banana and this strange lemon-raspberry (very tart, with a horribly sour aftertaste - almost like hairspray - but I loved it!) flavor I had once. NO other flavors!

"Now sleeps the crimson petal, now the white;
Nor waves the cypress in the palace walk;
Nor winks the gold fin in the porphyry font:
The fire-fly wakens: waken thou with me.

Now droops the milkwhite peacock like a ghost,
And like a ghost she glimmers on to me.

Now lies the Earth all Danaë to the stars,
And all thy heart lies open unto me.

Now slides the silent meteor on, and leaves
A shining furrow, as thy thoughts in me.

Now folds the lily all her sweetness up,
And slips into the bosom of the lake:
So fold thyself, my dearest, thou, and slip
Into my bosom and be lost in me." -

Alfred, Lord Tennyson

Art: I collect art work by Robert Hoppe, Erte, Guy Buffet, James Talmadge and Fornasetti.

I love needle crafts, beadwork, quilting and cooking. (I guess you can take the woman out of Utah, but...)

I also love the study of anthropology, religions of the world, political science, and foreign languages (I speak Norwegian, French and Hebrew).

I'm practically obsessed with studying the era of the Roman republic, and the Golden Age. Modern-time interests include the establishment of North America to present day, with particular interest in World War II (and, of course, current day).

I am also obsessed with world maps and atlases; it's nearly impossible for me to walk past one and NOT find Norway on it! (I actually have a world map hanging on one of my living room walls, and several atlases in the bookcases!)

I love to travel (except taking off my shoes at the airport - GROSS!), and will be in several European cities spring/summer, 2008 and beyond!

I'd like to meet:

The above shows that God does, indeed, have a cruel streak; just look at what he did to Adam! Sad, sad, sad!

Vivienne's press release should explain what THIS is about, and I need only add that renovations have begun on the Sistine Chapel to reflect the changes in "the management." I have also issued instructions to the master painters (not masturbators!)to "bedazzle" my outfit in the portrait, as well as to make my breasts larger (to reflect their actual, real-life size), and to hence include a bit of cleavage. Additionally, I have requested that I be flanked by The Jacksons (and, of course, Vivienne...), as opposed to various, anonymous "angels." We'll see.

Furthermore, and vastly more important, I have instructed them to make Adam's penis a more acceptible size. That, or indicate that I'm pointing to it and laughing. As it stands (or, really, DOESN'T), the picture is far too serious - and inaccurate. Keep watching for the new and improved "Kristen Almighty" version. I think -- nay, I KNOW -- Michelangelo would be very pleased.

Time, flowing like a river
Time, beckoning me
Who knows when we shall meet again,
If ever?
But time
Keeps flowing like a river
To the sea
Goodbye my love,
Maybe for forever
Goodbye my love,
The tide waits for me
Who knows when we shall meet again,
If ever?
But time
Keeps flowing like a river (on and on)
To the sea, to the sea
Till it's gone forever
Gone forever
Gone forevermore
Goodbye my friends,
Maybe forever
Goodbye my friends,
The stars wait for me
Who knows where we shall meet again,
If ever?
But time
Keeps flowing like a river (on and on)
To the sea, to the sea
Till it's gone forever
