Aggressive, meticulous, passionate, righteous - all distinguishing traits that have come to symbolize the fundamentals of metal/hardcore pioneeers Pro-Pain. Their successful and enviable career has perpetually prospered and yet, a decade on, they still manage to find room to improve. And more importantly, impress. With Prophets of Doom, Pro-Pain (as always) deliver a punishing record that expands upon the diversity and musical acrimony that was found on Fistful of Hate - their successful 2004 release. Fresh off dates with labelmates Entombed and Crowbar (their first US tour in over five years) and followed by dates in April/May with Kreator and Vader, Prophets of Doomwill benefit from a lengthy and directto- consumer promotional campaign. With Metal Maniacs and Hit Parader features already confirmed and online promotions set to launch in April, the lead up to album release will be bold for both band and label.Formed in 1990 by vocalist/bassist Gary Meskil (ex-Crumbsuckers), then New York-based Pro-Pain benefited from substantial support from Headbanger's Ball. In 2004, the band returned to the program, clocking in regular and repeated rotation with "Can You Feel It." With guitarists Tom Klimchuck, Eric Klinger (ex-Spudmonsters) and drummer JC Dwyer (ex-Paingod), the band's worldwide catalog sales nears one million units. Advance plans have the band set to film their next video in the coming months, leading up to album release.
