Self taught, D.A. started singing in New York City bars and clubs and began booking recording studio time with extra money earned as a bar bouncer to develop his craft as a recording artist. The self written songs recorded by D.A. reflect experiences from his personal life that he hopes his listeners can relate to and draw comparisons to experiences in their own lives, and helps this artist connect and communicate with an audience.
Working most often with only acoustic guitar accompaniment, D.A. has performed hundreds of shows singing his original material as well as covering the favorite songs that influence his passion in song writing and performing. He has sung at some of New York City's most sought after venues such as the Hammerstein Ballroom and at the opening of the Broadway nightclub Show for a charity benefit in Feb.2004, as well as a guest appearance on ABC television's Good Morning America. Other live TV performances also included Mexico City's TelemundoTV Azteca , before taking his act on the road to Las Vegas and inevitably Nashville, where he continues to perform at some of the 'Music City's' most recognizable locations, and enjoying every minute of it.
When asked how he would describe his music D.A. replied, "I've always felt music should be about possibilities and not limitations, it should bring people together. I'd like to think my music can appeal to both young and old alike, and cross the boundaries of various genres; country, pop, gospel, folk, rock, and soul. All of these elements can be felt and heard in different songs of mine, but if I had to give it a name I guess I'd call it 'country soul'."
