SUMMER, typing in lower case, architecture (frank lloyd wright, greene and greene, the mayans), beautiful/useful design (arts and crafts--as in the MOVEMENT--not scrapbooking!), surrealist art (dali, parkes), using old-skool slang, finding the next fun thing, hiking, snowboarding, exploring los angeles. nothing beats being outside ALL DAY on a beautiful day, seeing zillions of stars, laughing my ass off with funny people and learning something new every day.
i'd like to meet people without: profiles with long lists (i am so damn tempted to post examples), tons of pictures instead of their own words, someone else's song lyrics, spelling and grammatical errors (please GO TO COLLEGE, TAKE ENGLISH 101 or at least FIND SPELLCHECK and get your ass OFF myspace until you do!) and people who do not think it's clever to list a bunch of dead people in this section. oh, and i'd like to meet people without 500 "modeling," bikini or shirtless shots and shots of them "working in the business." i'd like to meet people who are fun and entertaining and have a purpose in this world other than seeking attention on myspace.THIS is what "working in the business" looks like:
anything directed by david fincher (okay, except zodiac which did not live up to my expectations). blade (mmmm vampire movies....), matrix (all of them!), american beauty, before sunrise, out of africa. the big lebowski! now, that's true genius. shrek rules.
lost, entourage (in my opinion, the best show on television!), grey's anatomy, rescue me, it's always sunny in philadelphia (fucking hilarious), the office. i heart television! so there! PLANET EARTH! the BBC show/dvd and the actual PLANET! how damn lucky i feel after watching this INCREDIBLE, beautiful, majestic series to actually be here on it. buy it! watch it! i can guarantee that you will not be disappointed.
everything steinbeck, the stand, sedaris and shopgirl. trying to get to all the classics i've missed. definitely not grisham. fear and loathing in las vegas. laughed my ass off. recently read i don't know how she does it by allison pearson. insightful and FUN read about personal and professional reality for women. oh, and everything written by my future husband.
