This is DJ NUBON INTERVIEW WITH 3D WORLD.................................................
Nu Bon is on a mission: to share his sound with as many people as possible. 3D finds out more...DJ NUBON INTERVIEW WITH 3D WORLD How did you fall in love with music? It was a funny story how I fell in love with Hip Hop and RNB... I’ve always loved music ever since I was young, growing up learning how to play the piano, but truly fell in love with DJ’ing after seeing one of my good friend play the local house parties in the 90’s - DJ CHOZIE, who was playing happy hard at the time when the rave scene was huge, I witnessed first hand how much a DJ can influence a crowd of people regardless of their nationalities and how the DJ can bring all these vast array of people together to have one of the craziest nights of their lives, this moment literally gave me goosebumps. At first I started DJ’ing happy hard, when I was in grade eight. I then went on to do house parties around the local neighbourhood, eventually I switched to RNB as it became an increasingly strong trend with most clubbers at the time. I then began to realise that this was more than just a hobby, when the crowd would go nuts when I dropped certain tracks, it was an awesome feeling like dropping a nuclear bomb in the centre of dance floor. Months later I got offered to do the blue light disco’s at PCYC and then went on to do a few under 18’s and school formals. I spent years entering (and winning) competitions in places such as the Castle Hill Tavern and Coogee BEACH RSL. The funny thing is, in my early years of DJ’ing in the club scene, I was still under 18, so it was kinda cool that I got to witness the club scene before most of my friends and peers.
What was the first album you ever bought?
The first album I bought was Another Bad Creation, cause I just loved the track Iesha, which at the time was pretty hot. One of my next purchases was Poizon by BELL BIV DEVOE which was off the hook at the time and still gets dropped in clubs til this day. A few other purchases include Motownphilly - Boyz II Men, Michael Jackson, THE JACKSON 5, Diana Ross and funnily enough one of my favourite tracks at the time was We are the World - USA FOR AFRICA.MY favourite classic on vinyl that i like to drop is Naughty by Nature HIP HOP HOORAY,Arrested Development EVERYDAY PEOPLE and the classic Fat Man Scoop BE FAITHFUL for the response of the crowd anthems.
. As I grew older, artists such as 2PAC were a strong influence on my musical preferences and one of my hobbies was to study 2PACS lyrics as you can learn heaps by carefully listening to lyrics as most of these artists have something deep and meaningful to share. KEEP YA HEAD UP – 2PAC was a motivational and inspiring song for me growing up.
Who do you respect?
I have the much respect for the old skool cats such as: DJ Moto and Tikelz for bringing some of the greatest mixtapes Australia has ever witnessed. Also DJ Rectangle for his dope mixtapes and of course Grand Master Flash, for influencing the art form of DJ’ing to what it is today, DJ Craze for being one of the most talented battle DJ’s alive.Atrax being so young and talented and Qbert for being one of the only DJ’s alive to be able to use turntables to communicate to aliens,he quotes, hopefully I can learn some day. Much respect goes out to some of our local cool cats such as:, SAMRAI, STANLEY,EKO & NORMZ.
Where would you like to be in five years' time?
In five years' time I would still like to be DJ’ing, hopefully doing it as a full-time job travelling the world and running my own business. Playing in world reknown clubs and producing/remixing tracks like Dj Tiny TIM who now is known for TIMBALAND and of course Dr DRE. I would also like to support upcoming DJ’s and help them get their break in the industry just as I was given support whilst I was trying to get out there myself, thanks to all those DJ’s who helped me when I really needed it, much respect.
How would you like to be known?
I would like to be remembered as a down-to-earth guy, who likes to have fun, someone who is caring and helpful. I’d also like to be known as a DJ who can rock the crown no matter what the musical preference of the crowd is, a DJ known for predicting hitz well before they hit the scene.interview with 3D world 2008WHERE IVE SPIN ----- cabramatta CANDYSHOP,cabramatta 888,hilton,st james hotel PERFECT,priveledge, scary canary, space WONDERLAND 1 and 2,liverpool nox CANDYBAR,V BAR,UNDERGROUND,RICHARDS ON THE PARK,penrith THE BLOC,st mary COLOURS,liverpool rsl TREVOLUTION,metro PRECINCT,penrith THE EMBASSY,hamilton island BOHEMIAN CLUB,hamilton island SPORTS BAR,HILLSONG CHURCH,cabra vale diggers, melbourne QUEENS BRIDGE,OLYMPIC PARK STADUIM,TELSTRA STADUIM,HARBOUR CRUISES,THE VAULT,CASTLEHILL TAVERN,COOGEE BEACH HOTEL,BONDI BEACH LIFESAVERS CLUB,oxford st ROAGS,GOOD BAR,sydney city hotel, greenwood hotel, parramatta ONEWORLD,cambodia SIEM PIEP BAR and too many to list.
