We're Our Time To Rise
we have alot of history stick with us..
Once upon, a time Patrick (vocals), in about the beginning of 8th grade, wanted to start up a band.. a good one since his last disaster SS. Patrick was giving his friend Jake a ride home one day and said "Yeah man, I'm starting up a band and, I'm looking for a sceamer." Jacob Helton just happened to be pretty g and the only screamer he knew so he went with it.Pat as he knew needed a lead guitar player since he played the rhythm guitar, and sang so he remembered his old friend from baseball Will Blair (lead guitar) who always used to talk about music with him. Jake, Pat, and Will jammed together a couple of times, and realized hey! we need a drummer. So, Jake told us about a friend he met at his church 20//20 and said he was definitely into the kind of music we were going for. That's when Jake introduced us, to sir Luke Teyler (drums). Luke was only 12 at the time, but age was just number when we heard this kid jam. The only thing we were missing at this point was a bass player. It had been awhile, and we still hadn't found a bass player, but we had found a name. Jake had asked about the name A Few Short Words, and that was what we were known as for awhile.Due to a couple of issues Pat had with one other member of the band, he had left and started up another band most people know as ViTC, but not without finding a bass player for the band! his name is sir Tre Shortland (*now* guitar). With their line up of Jake, Will, Tre, and Luke they started to play shows for a couple of months. In the beginning of our freshmen year (we're now in 10th grade and Luke in 8th) Jake met a cat by the name of Taylor Pestana (bass) and they became good friends throughout the year. After the band realized they needed a second guitarist they figured the easiest way they would have that is if they would throw Taylor in on bass and Tre onto guitar, and then they played shows like this from then on.Due to more issues with a particular member of the band Tre had left the band to do what they continued to do, but right back where they started without a second guitarist. They played a couple more shows together, and recordsed a 5 song demo with Sharkpunch. After a few months of playing shows with this demo, they had a talk with Jake about how they felt in this band, and at that point they parted ways with Jake Helton. This finally brings you to our line up today! Tre, and Pat re-joined the band, and we came up with the fresh new name of Our Time to Rise. We've come a long way and we're ready to take our music to the next level! We love our fans, and everyone else who wants to give us a chance. Come by and say hi to us! We talk.
