About Me

It's hard to join my circle, we've been friends for 25 years and they are the best people in the world. I keep trying though.A significant thing that happened to me was moving from Ca. to "NU AWLINS" and living there from the age of 16 thru 20. I had no choice but to be what I had become after that....someone who wanted to take a huge bite out of life. I've had my setbacks and regressions but I still feel like that 20 year old getting on the bus to go back to California with nothing but a hundred bucks, my surfboard, backpack and a massive hangover...

My Interests

surfing, snowboarding, movies, music, photography, tennis, golf, politics, books, travel and sports. I've surfed since I was 13 and spent months at a time reading John Irving books. I read Daily Kos fervently and think Glenn Grenwald is a genius.

I'd like to meet:

people who don't care what other people think of them

Music:

Currently listening to Hayden's Elk-Lake Serenade (brilliant album) Ben Harper, Neil Young, The The, Radiohead, Augustus Pablo, Billie Holiday, Etta James, Yo lo Tengo, Nick Drake, Johnny Cash and Bill Callahan from Smog. Books:

Mister Roberts and Encyclopedia's sustained me until I was 17. I found World According to Garp and I realized the absurdity of life was what sustained me. I have a habit of reading my books over and over, sometimes 15 to 20 times. My excuse is that I might have missed something. Other authors i like are E.L. Doctorow, Martin Cruz Smith and an affinity with my father for W.E.B. Griffin and Tom Clancy.
