It's a limited release.
You might find it in some record shops but if not, you know how to use the internet. .. Just search for Babel 'Crooked Timber' and I'm sure someone will try to sell it to you..
iTunes will happily sell it to you too but y'know.... real things are nice.
Sadly, there's no vinyl release as yet. If you'd like to get a copy on heavy vinyl then message us and we'll add it to a list. We'll then nail this petition list to the withered front door of the head of format police and get things changed.
Some early scores in from the judges..
"an album of inventive, touching and triumphant pop songs.. a true success."
(Clash Magazine)
"a blessed relief... with a strong potential to be a repeated favourite as autumn comes around."
(CMU Daily)
"A fine debut."
(The Epoch Times)
"Quietly ace."
(Rock Sound magazine)
"an assured and compelling debut."
(Bristol Evening Post)
We are Babel.
Babel like "Bay-bull". Not "bar-bell" or "babble".
Born in Bristol in the UK, Babel started out all kind of small, folky & a bit shy but then fell in dirty love with pounding tamborines and volume knobs.
Songs led to concerts, concerts led to the recording two self-financed EPs, 'The Golden Acre EP' & 'The Arc EP'. Both were sold from tables in tiny venues. Some of which reached places far beyond our own postcode.
In 2007, People Tree Records of London, UK released the majority of our two EPs to the world on one reasonably priced compact disc & weighty slab of vinyl. The CDs have long gone but there's still some vinyl around if you look hard enough. Or iTunes of course..
The new album, 'CROOKED TIMBER', released on Monday 13th October 2008.
As always, thank you ..
