Chaz E B started producing music in 1986 when he was hired to create background music for BCTV. Hiphop production followed shortly using the "pause tape" method but quickly transpired to chopping breaks with razors and 1/4 inch tape and recording loops on reel-to-reel recorders. Things got easier for Chaz when he purchased the classic combo of an Akai s900 sampler, and an Emu Sp12 drum machine and began to get busy. He soon teamed up with his neighbour Code Black, and formed Flip Side. Code Black wrote and performed 3/4 of the lyrics and Chaz E B did all music production and some lyric writing and performance.
In 1989, Chaz met Mr Rumble in the hallways of CiTR radio, and through their mutual appreciation of hiphop production and beat digging, they quickly learned the tricks of the trade.
Chaz E B is still producing to this day.
