About Me

The Captured Life with Hana
ABOUT ME: I am an original southern girl from Nashville, TN. I began my formal dance training in Ballet, Tap, and Jazz at 10 years old and began to share my love for dance through performance in various dance teams. Throughout high school and college, I have received numerous honors for academic achievement, student leadership, community service, and beauty pageant titles. After graduating from Howard Univ. in the big city of Washington, DC, I made the decision to marry my love for dance and business by becoming an administrator for the Academy of the Maryland Youth Ballet while furthering my studies in dance part time. As a result of following my passion for dance, I have had the privilege to train with some of the best instructors in the country such as, Freddie Moore of The Ailey School, Julie Miles of Washington Ballet and the Maryland Youth Ballet, Ronald K. Brown of Evidence Dance Company, Assane Konte of Kankouran West African Dance Company, and Marvin Richardson of The Soul Factory Theater. My natural gift of dance, training, and professional career has awarded me the privelege of performing, touring, and teaching for some of the best companies and artists in the country: Footprints Dance Company, Marvin Richardson Dance Group, The Soul Factory Theater, Freddie Moore, Deron Cloud, and recording artists Alvin Slaughter, Briss, and Ebony Jackson.I have taught such dance styles as Ballet,Tap, Modern, Hip-Hop, and African to youth as well as adults for such organizations as D.A.R.E. America, Capital Hill Arts Workshop, Levine School of Music, and Arlington County Parks & Recreation. While receiving rave reviews for my vibrant teaching style and ability to excite students to pursue their dreams and passion in the arts, I am honored for the many opportunities to educate and empower our leaders of tomorrow. I am also excited to be furthering my career in the fashion/modeling industry as well. I have gained an extensive amount of experience in promotional, commercial, and runway modeling over the past 2 years and have recently signed on with a few modeling and talent agencies in the Washington, DC, Baltimore, MD, and Atlanta, GA areas. With my love for and influence of dance, I have been able to achieve my fresh, hip, elegant, and natural look, and grace the pages of fashion while also being a role model for my community. If one were to ask me what my ultimate passions are I would say: my faith in God, family, being an active parent, entrepreneurship, modeling, dancing, traveling, skating, teaching youth, laughing/hanging with friends, and serving the community at large.
