Sounds Like:DJ Red: Butt Naked Breaks, Volume 1Every year, the best deejays in the world travel to Miami to participate in the musical frenzy known as the Winter Music Conference. In addition to these superstar deejays and producers, there is also a glut of deejays that try to get discovered or jump-start their careers. The problem, however, often lies in the mere fact that most of these deejays simply suck. As a writer and editor in chief, I often get tons of cds from aspiring deejays that hope to get discovered but it can be simply unbearable to listen to most of them. However, there are surprisingly a few good gems that I get at the conference and this is surely one of them. DJ Red's "Butt Naked Breaks, Volume 1 is a beautifully woven musical tapestry of sound that weaves through Breaks, Trance, and Progressive House. From DJ Icey's "Touch" through Huda Hudia vs. DJ 4-Play's "Move That Body" and finally through Mr. Smith's "Return to Ibiza", he captures the essence of the new movement juxtaposing all these genres into one solid compilation. What is even more imaginative about this compilation was the fact that no protools were used in the making of this compilation. Thus you are simply listening to a work of art woven together by the hands of DJ Red. Remember this name because he is certainly one of the rising stars of the Electronic Music Scene.Added: Saturday, January 04, 2003
