About Me

I'm Lily Evans. I was born in 1960. I have brilliant green and almond-shaped eyes and dark red hair that is long and thick; some people say I'm very pretty. I'm Muggle-born and have a sister: Petunia Evans. My parents were delighted to discover that I was a witch when the letter from Hogwarts came. I was sorted into Gryffindor House and am attending Hogwarts. My wand is Willow, 10 1/4", & swishy (nice wand for charm work). I'm skilled in Charms and Potions, and I'm a member of the Slug Club. Many people describe me as charming and vivacious. I also stick up for others and am a loyal friend.

--Attended Hogwarts from 1971-1978
--Green eyes are like those of her only son Harry
--Petunia Evans later became Petunia Dursley
--Lily was Head Girl in 1977-78
--Married James Potter in 1978
--Harry born in 1980
--Murdered in 1981
Even though she was disgusted with him at first, Lily began dating James Potter in her 7th year. She later married James very quietly between summer of 1978 and winter of 1979, right after they graduated from Hogwarts. Sirius Black was the Best Man at their wedding. Both were part of The Order of the Phoenix. Lily and James had a son, Harry, on July 31, 1980. Dumbledore warned Lily and that Voldemort was on their track, and they went into hiding in 1981, living as Muggles in a place called Godric's Hollow. They used the Fidelius Charm to hide themselves, but the person they chose as Secret Keeper, Peter Pettigrew, was actually a spy for Voldemort who betrayed them. On October 31, 1981, Voldemort came to Godric's Hollow and killed James and Lily. James held Voldemort off, but died protecting Lily and Harry. Lily died soon after protecting Harry herself from Voldemort. She and her husband were one of the few members who had defied Voldemort 3 times and survived. Voldemort did not intend to kill Lily, even giving her a chance to get out of the way as he moved to attack Harry; she could have lived and yet she chose to protect her son. In doing so, she unknowingly gave Harry a level of protection Voldemort couldn't touch.
