ABOUT US!
Martin Miljan- I have been taking/playing drums for 6 years and still taking lessons at Huber and Breese.
I play a blue Yamaha drumset with saibian 16 inch thin crash, a 16 inch saibian HHX crash, a saibian 18 inch AAX crash, a saibian 21 inch metal ride.
I also Play With a 8 inch saibian splash symbol, an HHX 10 inch spash symbol, an 18 inch B8 saibian china symbol and a 12 inch 502 bronze paiste splash symbol.
I have 14 inch bronze 502 paiste hi-hats with a pearl drop clutch.
I am use a variety of different snare drums, a pearl 14 inch piccolo, a 10 inch pearl firecracker, and a 15 inch Yamaha snair drum.
I also use a tama IRON COBRA double kick.
I am currently useing a 12 inch, and 13 inch tom-tom, and a 16 inch floor tom. I use remo roto-toms.(6,8,10)
I use a 22" bass drum. I have a lp jam block, and a rythem tech taberine/cowbell mount (two different sized cowbells). I use an aquarian super kick 2 for my bassdrum heads, and remo weathering emperor tom heads. I have won three 1st place trophies at the "American Guild Of Music", 2005, 2006, 2007, and hopefully 2008. Thats my drum set. Hope u enjoy what u hear.
Ricky Ware-I have been playing for about 9 years...
I use a woodtone gibson studio les paul.
I use a digitech effect pedal, a metal/van hallen pedal-connected to my 120watt. crate amp(the red one with all the effects.)
James Penner - I have been playing guitar for 3 years. I like to shred and jam out at live shows. I live for music along with all types and styles. Broken Silence is like a new found family. I love jammin with these bros. I play a pink dean custom most of the time, its part of my stage presence along with a pink belt and shoes. I am very influenced by almost all musicians but my style of playing can mostly relate to Metallica, Testament, DragonForce, Norma Jean, As I Lay Dying, Killwhitneydead, with a few touches of Syncopated Jazz, Old School Hip Hop, Indie, and Emo. I use 3 types of strings for 3 different guitars. Fender 9's on my ibanez (floyd rose equipped), Dean Markly Skullbusters 11's for my schecter, and GHS 10's for my dean. I LOVE DEEP CHUGS AND UGLY CHORDS! If anyone wants to chill or jam with me contact my personal myspace because i love meeting people. Well thats me. Enjoy Broken Silence!
Brendan Jacques - I have been playing for about two years. I used to take lessons at Gus Zopi but my teacher left me to go get a record lable :(
now I take lessons at Huber and Bresse. My axe is a Shecter C-4xxx, I also have a crappy bass I am hopping to smash at a show somtime soon. I use a Hartke 1400 Trasist Attack with tube pre-amp (140 watts). Effects wise I occasionally use a Boss ODB-3 Bass Overdrive Petal. I used a combination of strings; for good tone I use Medium gauge Elixer Nano webs (those are $40 man). But these barely handle drop tuneings so for my low E-string I used Super-Heavy gauge GHS Bass Boomers. I play with my fingers and rarely use a pick. Any bassist who uses a pick souldent be playing bass. If any one care when I use picks (might I add is very rarely) I use Heavy Jim Dunlop U.S.A. Jells. My playing style is mosly copy the guitar death metal syle but every so often my riffs reflect my roots deep in jazz and funk.
