Actual Fact is a hip hop trio that consists of three dudes. Surrounded by mythical legend, the Actual crew's true origins are unknown. We know that they have re-emerged from relative obscurity to rising true school hip hop notoriety. Famed for making beats without the use of sound, an urban legend created following unconfirmed reports from the studio, producer/emcee Apex reportedly survived a genetic experiment gone bad. The resulting accident took away critical functions in his brain, leaving him only able to hear in musical notes. Around the same time, word flipping emcee Mental, also known as the Thought Process, had received word that his rhymes were being outlawed by the government for causing mass blindness amongst the people. His mission to lay low brought him in contact with DJ 2-Tone Jones, who was running a DC nightclub at the time. 2-Tone ran a host of illegal number running businesses out of the club, but was also harboring outlawed artists in the clubs adjoining living spaces. What most people didnt know was that 2-Tone had developed the secret sense bending technique, which allowed him to manipulate the mixer and turntables using only his eyes, opening up insanely unheard amounts of creative style. When Apex decided to visit the club upon being released from the hospital, the Actual Fact was reportedly formed. That was in 2005, and since then the group has been making music under faded circumstances. Reports have confirmed that Actual Fact is working on their debut project, an EP that will be released during the summer of 2006. Artists spotted recently with the Actual collaborating on the project include Lil Sci aka John Robinson, Dudley Perkins, Stacy Epps, Oddisee, and Georgia Anne Muldrow.
