About Me

I love the theater, but I'm no drama queen!! I like to laugh....I NEED to laugh! And I find that most of my friends fall into the category of people who make me laugh, but they also have to know how to be serious when it's called for...yes, it's a fine line. My life has taken some drastic twists and turns in the last few years and being a glass-half-full kind of person, I have twisted and changed as necessary. I don't believe in accidents - I believe there is an order and a purpose in life that is guided by a higher hand than ours, thankfully, since my own choices have often been lacking in wisdom. I am looking for friendship and possibly more with someone in my age range who is young enough at heart to deal with a bright, beautiful and very fun four year old...not easy to find. That surprise "gift" has made me young all over again and I am truly blessed - despite what some of my friends may think. I have found that the first reaction from people my age who find out that I dwell in the land of Elmo and Bob the Builder most often tends to be sympathy...which really bugs me!! I admit it's a challenge at times, but I wouldn't trade it - or him - for anything in the world...puts a whole new definition to the term "adventurous"....and you thought it meant climbing a mountain or riding a wave! I beg to differ!! Do you have an "adventurous" spirit? Think before you answer that question...I am part of a "package" and it's marked "handle with care".

My Interests

Music ...Theater ...Books...always up for TV or a movie.... prefer a walk in the woods or a drive in the country to a party these days....

I'd like to meet:

I have been looking for a kind, intelligent man of faith with the consideration to be himself from the very beginning. I'm tired of the chameleon dance where I meet and start to like someone and then he turns into someone else. I am longing for consistency - just be who you are and keep being that man from start to finish! He has to be someone gentle and loving who can make me laugh. He must be young at heart (necessary to keep up with me AND the four year old!) but I don't appreciate the he-loves-me/he-loves-me-not games anymore...I want to know where I stand! Comfort and security are stepping stones to passion for me. I prefer to save my energy for the kind of play that will benefit BOTH of us when the time is right!

Music:

All kinds....some favorites are Norah Jones, Heart, Wynonna Judd, Eric Clapton, Bobby Caldwell, Sting, the Carpenters, Michael McDonald, George Michael, Linda Ronstadt (love the 40's stuff she did years ago), Stephen Curtis Chapman, Casting Crowns, Ginny Owens, Watermark, Cindy Morgan, Carolyn Arends, Rascal Flatts, Phil Vassar and lots more!

Movies:

Old - A Summer Place, Gone With the Wind, Camelot .....Recent past - Sleeping with the Enemy, Silence of the Lambs, LadyHawke, Noises Off.....New - Lord of the Rings, A Knight's Tale, The Notebook, Under the Tuscan Sun

Television:

Love crime investigation shows - Law and Order, CSI, Cold Case, Crossing Jordan, Without a Trace, Missing....on those days when a little less violence is in order, I like West Wing, Gilmore Girls, American Dreams, Wild Card and Everwood. No interest in reality television AT ALL!! When I have time to watch TV, I want to ESCAPE from reality, thank you!

Books:

Crime thrillers - (Jonathon Kellerman, James Patterson, Patricia Cornwell)....Historical novels (Bodie Thoene, Taylor Caldwell)...Biographies and non-fiction on a limited basis. I enjoy comedy writing as well (such as Dave Barry)

Heroes:

The most important hero in my life was my father. I lost him this past March and I miss him every moment of every day. He was a man committed to his family and his life's work - he was a minister. I am the person that I am today because of his influence and his prayers.
The only other people I consider heroes are every man or woman who puts on a uniform to fight for our freedom or protection - that includes police officers and firefighters as well as soldiers. There are other people who have done heroic things, but these walk a hero's path on a daily basis and I am forever grateful to them for it. And my ultimate hero is my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ...His unconditional love and sacrifice for me is beyond imagination...
