About Me

Radio Magnetic is an online radio station dedicated to quality, underground, independent, alternative music and features programming. The station began transmission at 4pm on Monday 19 March 2001. The music policy covers hip hop, soul, funk, jazz, dub, reggae, breaks, broken beats, drum n bass, disco, house, techno, electro, electronica and indie.
We're recently launched a new site so please do check out the shows and features and let us know what you think. There's loads more content coming soon so do keep an eye on us and an ear to the underground.
The station used to broadcast a live stream 24/7/365 with a daytime playlist, live specialist programmes and overnight automated content. However, due to resources issues, mostly financial (including UK music copyright collection models), we ceased live transmission on Monday 16 January 2006. Instead we are concentrating on producing excellent quality on-demand programmes and podcasts. We are investigating the possibility of re-iniating the playlist with a psuedo live stream very soon.
Radio Magnetic foregrounds the best alternative music it can find. All Myspace bands are welcome to submit music. wherever they are.
