THE RUB
The Rub Rhythm & Blues, Rock & Roll
To be, or not to be--that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles
And by opposing end them. To die, to sleep--
No more--and by a sleep to say we end
The heartache, and the thousand natural shocks
That flesh is heir to. 'Tis a consummation
Devoutly to be wished. To die, to sleep--
To sleep--perchance to dream: ay, there's THE RUB
If Rhythm & Blues is your thing then check out The Rub. Originally formed in 1990 following the break up of several Midlands based covers bands, The Rub have played far and wide including a number of local festivals, a Monster Raving Looney rally with the now sadly departed "Screaming Lord Sutch". Support slots with "John Otway", "Steve Gibbons", "Blues On The Loose", "Quill", "Harlan the Jester" and many others followed. An appearance at the Burnley Blues Festival in 1991 really put them on the map. A few line up changes followed and then a quiet period with some members working on other projects. Now The Rub are back to their roots and they mean business.
The Rub's influences are clear, good old fashioned rhythm & Blues, rock 'n' roll with a driving edge. The Rub are currently reelin' and a rockin' across the UK to packed houses.
It's one relentless good time boogie show, that will keep you grooving and make you hungry to be Rub'bed some moreThe Rub will be coming to a place near you pretty soon, so check 'em out baby!!
