About Me

the virus known as algol was formed in 1998 with the goal of creating pure, hateful black metal. as the years passed, members joined and died, venues were infected, and the underground started to crumble under the virulent force of algol. the first cd, gorgonous aura, was unleashed in 2000 by italy's twelfth planet and was met with traumatically positive reviews. despite rave reviews, the core carriers of the disease, m. demon and sarnath, were unsatisfied with their illness and desired a cruelty that was yet to be realized. in the end of 2003, algol recorded their side of the "whispers from an empty room" split, but with the death of another drummer weighing heavily on them, algol went into remission, not to return and vomit "whispers..." upon the world until new member xos was contaminated in the middle of 2004. with the release of "whispers...," algol terminally infected dozens of publications, nearly all of whom tearfully recommended the experience to others. in 2005, algol was quarantined to a two-album contract with paragon records and commenced the study of their newest mutation, "nine reasons to give up hope." having developed far beyond the apex of seven years of torment, "nine reasons to give up hope" promises to be algol's most horrifying work to date. free from the symptoms of any one disorder, the newest fever defies common nomenclature and promises to be an epidemic of pure disgust, ravaging all the known races of man and passing beyond the traits commonly associated with a "metal band." most certainly, algol remains betwixt sadness and disgust. ..
