I love to watch TV in bed and read magazines....what...oh...I mean I like to exercise and go to museums and the opera. I like to sit and talk to cool people, usually we mask that as going out to eat or going for drinks or coffee, but really I'd be just as happy sitting in a bare room with someone cool and funny like my friend Lindsay Dane who hates opera, museums and exercise.
Somebody who will call my cell phone. I've been starting to think lately that my cell is really a one way radio between me and my mother.
Music is good to listen to instead of nothing. When there is nothing to listen to, it sounds too quiet, like say...in the car...or in the morning when I'm getting ready to go out to take on the day as an unemployed actor, I turn on the radio and listen to something instead of getting ready in silence or driving in silence. Sometimes silence is good when you are trying to concentrate or figure something out. Then music will just not do. Opera music is never appropriate as only dorks who want to feel smart listen to opera. And I am never a dork.
Movies are my absolute favorite activity. I would go to the movies twice a day everyday with all of my friends if it were socially acceptable and financially feasible. I love the whole experience...walking up to the theatre, paying $20 a ticket, the popcorn, the candy, the relaxed feeling I get when I sink into the comfortable seat, the thrill of the preveiws and the movie itself is the best part. You can then say you've seen that movie. If someone talks about it you'll know what they're talking about. And that makes you cool, which is another great thing about watching movies. People think you are cool.
Television is great! I used to have DVR back in NY but now that I'm homeless I find it really hard to watch TV. I like to watch TV with people because it turns into more of a social event than the stark reality of me watching TV all day in the same clothes I went to sleep in and watched TV in for the last 4 days. So if I invite you to watch TV with me, don't be alarmed if I'm wearing a high school event tee shirt and underwear. They say that your eyes are the window to your soul, and maybe they are. But I kindof feel like TV is a window to the world. When I'm home alone in my house, when I used to have a house, I would turn on the TV and it was like I had a friend...someone to talk to...someone who gives great advice...someone I can mute whenever they are annoying...
