We are hosting the first event locally in Pittsburgh to raise money to benefit Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC. We are going to have an event on June 21st at the Royal Place Restaurant & Banquet Hall that holds 700-800 people. We have local bands participating that are willing to donate their time including; Steeltown Hot Country Rock, Southern By Choice, The Fabulous Gunslingers, Dallas Marks Band, Buc Wyld, and Trigger Band. Since The Royal Place also has a comedy club on the second floor, the comedian's agreed to participate as well. We are calling the event "Country & Comedy Cares for Kids".
This new site has been added specifically to help promote events like this one as well as encourage others to do the same. We hope to also add a link to enable direct donations to Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC for those that can't make any events but would like to make a donation.
We are hoping that we can encourage and promote these events at cities all around the country that have Children's Hospitals in them.

In case you are wondering, I will let you know about my motivation. My wife and I do not have any children, however, a special little person in our lives is the apple of our eye. She was diagnosed at 15 months with terminal brain cancer and her parents were told she would not live. The doctors said that if she were to live, she could possibly suffer severe adverse treatment consequences including her mental capacity, hearing and/or site impairment along with other possible mal effects due to intense chemotherapy and radiation. Through the absolute miracle efforts of Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC, she is alive and well at 7 years old!! She has her full hearing, sight, and functions like any other 7 year old little girl that just lost her two front baby teeth. She truly is an example of the efforts performed by the people of the Oncology Neurology Department to which we are so grateful. She makes my heart melt when I see that pretty little smile of hers!
