About Me

I am a city that anchors a regional population of 1.3 million people in a three state area. I am the home of Elvis Presley, Lisa Marie Presley, Cybil Shepherd, Dixie Carter, Rufus Thomas, Loren Roberts, B.B. King, Justin Timberlake, Al Green, Craig Brewer, Jerry Lawler, Jerry Lee Lewis, Isaac Hayes, John Daly, Three Six Mafia, and many many more.I am the home of the Blues and the Birthplace of Rock 'n Roll and most people consider me to be one of the premier music capitals of the world. Our citizens are not conformists like the citizens of some other cities, our people appreciate their differences in an effort to make our city a better place for ALL to live. This city is one of imagination and creativity and is a great place to live.Also, lately I have experienced an increase in movies filmed here. Some include: The Firm, The Client, The Rainmaker, Castaway, Mystery Train, Great Balls of Fire, Silence of the Lambs, 21 Grams, Memphis Belle, The Poor & Hungry, The People v. Larry Flynt, Hustle & Flow, Forty Shades of Blue, Elizabethtown, and Black Snake Moan. Because of this, I am now known in some circles as the "Hollywood on the Mississippi". If you would like to know anymore about me, please friend me and spread the voice of Memphis.
