About Me

Before I tell about myself, I would like to share something. It is something I want to share because I see so many people out there who think they are not good enough for God. Well, you are...He has a tremendous love for you that surpasses all understanding. God will meet you where you are:
Do you ever feel like you're not good enough for God..that could never love you...that you've done too many bad things in your life, that He could never accept you. He loves you...no matter who you are, no matter what you've done, no matter where you've been. He died for you, and longs for you to accept Him into your heart. He died for you on the cross as though you were the only person on earth, defeated sin and death, and rose again to give you eternal life through Him. All you do is say to Him, Jesus, I want you in my life. Forgive me for what I've done that is a sin against you. I accept you into my heart as my personal Savior. It's that simple. John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Romans 10:9 says, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." He loves you. He is waiting for you. He will meet you where you are.
Ok, now I'll share a little about myself. I love the Lord Jesus Christ with all of my heart, soul and mind. He died a cruel death on the cross, defeated sin and death, and rose again that I might live. He is always there. He is there during the good times and the rough times. He is consistent. He never changes.
At this point in my life, I have gained new insight into what life is all about - God, family, friends, helping others, and good times with family and friends. I devote this webpage to my Lord, and hope it can be used by Him. I'm looking forward to my time on this site.
In addition, I am beginning a new phase of my life as God moves me into writing fiction. I have written some fiction, but I have not yet attempted to get anything published. I am currently a technical writer, and have done some free lance, but that is, of course, much different. I want to allow my Lord to use me to write fiction that inspires people to look to what is most important in life. It has become clearer to me than ever...God has been doing a number on my heart lately. I've written here and there, but it has hit home more than ever in recent weeks. The floodgates have opened. Below, is a poem I wrote when I was 18. I want to share it with you. I wrote it as I started my life's journey from high school into college and beyond...and I'm sort of doing it again as I start over in a new life's calling.
Shadows of time Cast out of the dawn Into the light of memories
Dreams we look behind Flying high upon days unknown For yesterday is for all eternity
by Eric L.
Here is another poem. I wrote this one in my early twenties - although saved by His grace at the age of 11, God brought me to this point to help me realize that He had a change in direction for me. Yes, I'm sharing my poetry here a little bit. :) I have only shared this poem with a handful of people over the years. By the way, I never wrote the last verse to this poem only recently...and then I revised it a short time later. The poem is now complete.
I glimpse of an echo In the shadows of my soul Searching for all meaning In a moment my heart unfolds
I long for the truth In the twilight of a dream Running hard, breathing endless Going nowhere so it seems
The years are reflecting And the days are old My spirit yields a yearning For God's truth to be told
by Eric L.
Family is very important to me. Friends are as well. I can be counted on by my friends. Good times with family and friends will live on for eternity.
I am currently looking for a new church home. Please keep my in prayer on this matter.
I'm also working on getting back into the kind of shape I was in when I was in my early thirties before I got a pinched nerve in my back. The nerve has long since healed, but I've not been in that kind of shape since then.
More about me - I'm a bit of a paradox, and rather complex :) I'm easy going, yet intense. I like to joke, and I love life. Get this FREE MySpace layout and more at MySpaceOrYours.net

My Interests

Writing, music, photography, working out, football, tennis.

I'd like to meet:

New friends and acquaintances. I have met Jesus, but one day, I look forward to meeting Him in all His glory.

Music:

I come from a family of music...well, half of my family, which is my mom's side. She plays piano, and taught piano back in the early seventies before she started college. My late grandfather, Jake Hart, could play the guitar, violin, or fiddle in his case, and the banjo. He formed a music group in his later years that played all over Western North Carolina. His dad, Robert Hart, was the same, and so on back to Michael Hart. What do I play? Keyboard is my primary instrument, but I also play guitar. At one point in college, I was going to be a piano major, but changed my major to business. I'm rusty. Finally, after putting this off forever, I'm buying a piano and guitar very soon, and getting back into my music. I wrote a few pieces years back, and recorded a piece using synthesizer in a small recording studio at Florida Junior College (FJC), now known as FCCJ. I've sung three solos in my life, but they were all when I was in my early twenties.
First, so much of the Christian music coming out these days is awe inspiring. I like all types of music, fast and slow, but kind of picky within each category...everything from the variety of fast and slow instrumental music to certain old classical rock tunes. I also like a little country here and there, but rather picky when it comes to that category. And then there is instrumental music...I love good instrumental music. My music tastes are wide and varied, but particular.

Movies:

Patch Adams, Firewall, Entrapment, The Sentinel, Frequency, A Beautiful Mind, Redeye, Funny Farm, and many more. And then there is a movie that is set apart from all others - The Passion of the Christ.

Television:

House, 3 lbs., Lost, Discovery Channel, Football, Tennis...and then are times that I'll go on a wild goose chase with the remote flipping through channels until I can find something good.

Books:

The Bible, of course. Also, The Purpose Filled Life. As far as fiction novels go, John Grisham's books are definitely my favorite.

Heroes:

Walker, Texas Ranger - just joking. Jesus Christ is my hero. He is my savior, my Lord and my God. I have to also say that my mom and dad are heroes. They are Christians, and raised me right. I don't take that for granted.
