Stitch (b.06.03.1983) and Spin (b.03.10.1983) became classmates, having shifted from different schools into one in 1996. Before that both had played in local school bands. In the spring of 1997 Stitch and Spin started hanging around together most of the time doing some cover songs of famous british and american bands. In the fall of 1998 they played a 30 minute gig at an informal high-school party which received a warm response and encouraged the guys to further musical activity. And this was the year Stitch wrote his first song "Hey Jane". Some more months of playing covers passed and in 1999 it was decided to start finally doing something "original". It was decided to name the new duet POWERHED.First songs were something close to blues-rock with a hint of punk, but then it all turned to a dark and agressive hardcore alternative. The explanation to this sudden change must be the influence of such bands as Slayer, Sepultura and Napalm Death. 12 songs were selected for a gig, two of them ("Enemy" and "Float In Blood") were recorded in June, 1999 and released, of course unofficially, as a single "Enemy". It was done at the appartment of Sitch and Spin's friend and classmate, Vassily Fedotoff, engeneering and mixing made by him and his father, Dmitry. This was also the time, when the name of the band was changed to DEMISE. Further in August three more songs were recorded ("Insane", "Screams From Darkness" and "I'm Dying"). Among a few friends, who were their first fans, most popular were "Insane" and "I'm Dying".The compilation of the five recorded songs was "issued" under the title "Asphyxia" in early September, 1999. Some more songs were almost finished, but by (tragic!!) accident all the work files were deleted from the computer. In the Fall of the year the style of DEMISE's music underwent another change, so these songs were never re-recorded. The new songs resembled melodies much more now than screams from darkness. The guys had rehearsals on through the whole school year. After graduation from high school in June, 2000, while in a summer camping, 27 new songs were recorded live unplugged under the title "100 km From Nizhni: 2000 Live Bootleg". At that time it had become totally clear that the name DEMISE was no longer suitable and it was transformed to DIM EYES after one of the new songs, that was written by Spin.In Septemper the guys entered The State Linguistic University and it certainly brought something new in their lives, as well as their music.Studying on different departments made it difficult to find time to get together and practice. Stitch went on working separately, writing songs for a new record. Initially the new album was planned to be DIM EYES's, but finally it was released as Stitch's solo project THE NEW HEAVEN in January, 2001. Nine songs were recorded by Stitch using only an acoustic guitar and a bass. Although it was not much of a success, some songs were really good and also the record featured Stitch's cooperation with Greg Catchem, a friend and former classmate, who wrote the lyrics for "Faithfool". Later on Stitch will be using some more of Greg's lyrics for his music and employing him as a cover designer. In May-June 2001 Dim Eyes Recorded 3 more songs: "Myself", "Want Me/Hate Me" and "I Will Wait" to present as a single "MYSELF", cover design made by You-Inside Vision (G. Catchem). It was only the summer of 2002 when rehearsals started again. After a year spent in no activity, the guis got down to music again, and by June made a very good and stylistically balanced set of sixteen songs. It might have become an album, but after getting rather seriously injured in an accident in August everything fell apart. In the period of 2003-2004 some important things happened. In June, 2003 Dim Eyes tried to employ one of their friends, Mike NK (b.29.09.1984) as a drummer. The only problem was to teach him play. Mike started taking private lessons from a teacher of a musical college practiced new songs with Stitch at the dorm. He did rather well, but some changes in his life made him give up music. September - Dim Eyes recruit another university friend, Dmitry Shabinsky (b.19.09.1984) on bass. Before that he had played the guitar and he had no bass, so it was borrowed from Greg C.In March, 2004 Kirill Papanin, a drummer, joined the band and completed the line-up. For the first time since foundation Dim Eyes started rehearsing as quartet. The record of a rehearsal gig included 5 songs: "My G.F.", "What I Say", "Now&Forever", "Evil Hole" and "Save Yourself". It all, however, didn't last long. The whole summer Stitch spent in the USA and in September he and Spin were alone again. This time Stitch got down to recording new material as well as retrospective recording of some songs written in the period of 1999-2004.The new record was called "Save Yourself" and contained songs, written mostly during the "USA" period. The retro-record was distributed among friends under the title "The Black Box". Shortly after the traditionally unofficial release Mike NK suggested a candidate for playing the bass, his high-school acquaintance, Norma (b. 05.12.1985). There appeared to be no prejudices about having a female musician in the band, so she was enlisted. It really took time and effort to find a suitable place for rehearsals, but eventually, thanks to Norma's inventiveness, the problem was solved. In the beginning of 2005 a drummer StepA started rehearsing with Dim Eyes and the quartet started working on a live gig based on the "Save Yourself" album material, as well as some new stuff. After three months of practicing, on the 25 of March, the guys happened to appear on the stage of a local club "Leo Grotte" in one set with "E.L.F.", "ONO", "The Ventilators". Some line-up changes took place in May. Mael (ex- "Epitaphia", "Morphene"; b. 22.10.1987) became the new drummer. Another friend of DIM EYES - Rusty - was asked to be the band's personal manager. A new CD project "Neurasthenic" is being recently worked on.
