In May 2001 a number of musicians from famous Murmansk groups joined to establish a new formation. Having chosen Banana Skin as its name and alternative rock as its style, the group started to rehearse. This ended as a first gig at the international Nord Session festival in 2001. Rich musical experience of the players, acquired in Germany, Norway and Sweden, as well as terrific live-set Banana Skin won People’s Choice Award of the festival. This was a stunning start and the band occupied SBI RECORDS studio in Moscow in order to record their baby – Party the first album, which was released in 2003.A successful start requires as twice as successful continuation. This is something that the band is well aware of, and Banana Skin started to work on the new album and introduced it with the Icy Heart single. Look Back album was recorded in Haparanada (Sweden) and mixed and mastered at the famous Finnvox Studios (Helsinki, Finland) where sound engineers Mika Jussila and T.T.Oksala, who previously worked with HIM, Rasmus, and Apolcalyptica, created a beautiful atmosphere of melodic aggression, crowned by the acute precision of the compositions.
