HELLO EVERYONE!!!!!! My name is Monica Flores and I'm an 18 year old W.B. Ray High School graduate here in Corpus Christi, TX. I've recently realized how precious the gift of music is. God endows the select few with the passion, love, and the ear for the art of music. It is a very stong gift. God wouldn't have given it to us if He didn't want us to do anything with it, right? So, I figure we should all do something with it, and that is exactly what I intend to do.
I aspire to become a Broadway performer. I've loved the stage and the showtunes for as long as I can remember. When I was in high school, I played 4 parts in our production of HONK!, the story of the Ugly Duckling. In the summer of 2005, I began performing at the Harbor Playhouse (Corpus Christi's local theatre) as a soloist ("Bless the Lord"/"Long Live God") and ensemble cast member in their production of Godspell, a chorus member/dancer in Fiddler On the Roof this past June 2006, the "Aristocratic Lady" and chorus member in The Harbor Playhouse's Season Opener, Beauty and the Beast in September 2006, and was most recently seen in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat as part of the Women's Chorus and a principle dancer. This was my last show there at Harbor as I will be moving to Rosenberg, TX in January 2007. I ultimately want to attend a conservatory Northeast (NY, Boston, Chicago, Cinncinati, Philidelphia) and receive my BFA in Musical Theatre.
Buuuuuuut, if that doesn't work out, I'd want to become a recording artist and perform songs for very talented writers (no one really gives them enough credit). My favorites types of music to perform are showtunes, strong tear-jerking ballads, gospel/inspirational, and some country. But, I can suit my voice to various genres.
If you like what you hear, let me know what you think! I'd love to hear your opinion!!!!!! Thanks for visiting my page and GOD BLESS!!!
In September and October of 2006, I had the honor of performing alongside the BEST of Corpus Christi's multi-talented entertainers in The Harbor Playhouse's Season Opening production of Beauty and the Beast, starring the lovely Chrisi Carter as "Belle" and the very talented Ray Garza as "the Beast". It was an amazing show (almost sold out EVERY NIGHT for 4 weekends!) and I had a BLAST! Thanks to Chrisi's booooooyyyyyyfriend for these AMAZING photos!! Fantastic shots were captured and lifetime memories (and friends) were made!
GOOD SHOW, GUYS!!
