Edward Gein was born on August 27, 1906 and Died on July 26, 1984 he was an American serial killer. Though only two murders on his part were confirmed, he gained great infamy due to necrophiliac behavior, which involved the skinning of his murder victims and exhumed corpses, the decoration of his home with parts of corpses, and the creation of articles of clothing from the skin of corpses. Besides the death of his brother in 1944 under mysterious circumstances, six people disappeared from the Wisconsin towns of La Crosse and Plainfield between 1947 and 1957.

Ed Gein's identified victims, Mary Hogan and Bernice Worden, were shot with a pistol. In November of 1957, police found Bernice Worden hanging from the rafters in a shed behind Gein's house. Her body had been gutted like that of a deer, and the head had been removed. Ed Gein was also the suspect in several other missing persons. The element of the chainsaw that was added for the film's story once again emphasizes the loose connection of the film to Gein. -carpenoctem.tv

Jeffrey Lionel Dahmer was born on May 21, 1960 –Died November 28, 1994.He murdered 17 men and boys between 1978 and 1991 with the majority of the murders occurring between 1989 and 1991. His murders were particularly gruesome, involving acts of necrophilia, dismemberment and cannibalism. Dahmer was finally caught when one of his intended victims escaped and alerted the police of Dahmer's actions. What police found in his apartment shocked the nation. There were photos of dead bodies, some dismembered. A head was found in the refrigerator, 5 skulls were found in a box, a kettle on the stove was full of hands and male genitalia. Police also found a drum full of chemicals, and 3 decomposing torsos. Other body parts were scattered around the apartment. Dahmer's tools included a chainsaw he used to dismember his victims. The police found no food in Dahmer's apartment...he had been living off his victims. Dahmer confessed to these murders and other atrocities. Dahmer was found guilty, and sentenced to death. He was murdered by a fellow inmate while in prison, and was found with a mop handle stuck in his eye. A controversy surrounded the use of his brain for research. A judge ruled against it preventing a possible look into what makes a serial killer kill.

Born February 29, 1956 Rochester, Michigan Died October 9, 2002 Florida State Prison, Raiford, FloridaWuornos often said she wanted "it all to be over." In 2001 she began fighting to be executed. She petitioned the Florida Supreme Court for the right to fire her legal counsel and stop all appeals, saying "I killed those men, robbed them as cold as ice. And I'd do it again, too. There's no chance in keeping me alive or anything, because I'd kill again. I have hate crawling through my system.... I am so sick of hearing this 'she's crazy' stuff. I've been evaluated so many times. I'm competent, sane, and I'm trying to tell the truth. I'm one who seriously hates human life and would kill again.

Wuornos was executed by lethal injection (which she requested instead of the electric chair) at 9:47 a.m., Wednesday, October 9, 2002. Her last words were:I'd just like to say I'm sailing with the Rock and I'll be back like Independence Day with Jesus, June 6, like the movie, big mothership and all. I'll be back. After her execution, she was cremated, and her ashes were taken to her native Michigan and spread beneath a tree. She had requested that Natalie Merchant's song "Carnival" be played at her funeral. Natalie Merchant commented on this when asked why her song was played during the credits of the documentary Aileen: Life and Death of a Serial Killer. Richard Kuklinski Born April 11, 1935 Died March 5, 2006 was a convicted murderer who claimed to have killed more than 100 people. A notorious hit man known as "The Iceman" who was connected to the Gambino crime familyAmong his methods of torture, Richard used a chainsaw to dismember people while they were still alive. He described it as messy, but he was willing to do things such as remove a man tongue and insert it in the man anus to send a message across. Richard was an expert in using cyanide (the same chemical used in gas chambers) to poison people. He would put it in liquid form and put it in their drink or merely dump it on them in a bar, where it would go through their sweat pores and go into their bloodstream, eventually killing them. His methods of disposing of bodies consisted of putting them in cars that are crushed, sides of roads, park benches, steel drums, and water bodies.

On September 25, 1983, the body of Louis Masgay was found in a park. Richard had frozen the body two years before dumping it to confuse the time of death, earning him the nickname iceman from investigators. Unfortunately the body wasn't fully thawed before it was found and the forensics investigators discovered foul play was involved.

Dennis Lynn Rader (born March 9, 1945) is a serial killer who murdered at least ten people in Sedgwick County (in and around Wichita), Kansas, between 1974 and 1991. He was known as the BTK killer (or the BTK strangler), which stands for Bind them, Torture them, and Kill them, an apt description of his modus operandi. Letters were written soon after the killings to police and to local news outlets, boasting of the crimes and knowledge of details. After a long hiatus, these letters resumed in 2004.

Using personal jargon for his killing equipment, Rader casually described his victims as his "projects" and at one point likened the murders of his to killing animals by saying he "put them down."Rader created what he called a "hit kit," a briefcase or bowling bag containing the items he would use during murders: guns, tape, rope and handcuffs. He also packed what he called "hit clothes" that he would wear for the crimes and then dispose of.Rader developed a pattern for his murders. He would wander the city until he found potential victims. At that point, he would stalk them until he knew the pattern of their lives and when would be the best time to strike. He would also get acquainted with his potential victims if they were his co-workers, making them easier to track down and identify. Rader often would stalk multiple victims at a time, so he could continue the hunt if one victim didn't work out. At the time of the murder, Rader would break into the house, cut the phone lines, and hide until his victim came home. Rader would often calm his victims by pretending to be a rapist who needed to work out some sexual fantasies on them. This caused many of his victims to be more cooperative and even help him, thinking that once the rape was over, he would leave them alone. Instead, Rader would kill them.The name BTK, chosen by Rader for himself, also dictated his methods. Rader bound, tortured, and killed his victims. Rader would strangle his victims until they lost consciousness, then let them revive, then strangle them again. He would repeat the pattern over and over again, forcing them to experience near-death, becoming sexually aroused at the sight of their struggles. Finally, Rader would strangle them to death and masturbate to ejaculation into an article of their clothing, usually underwear. June 27, 2005, giving a graphic account of his crimes in court. He was sentenced to serve ten consecutive life sentences (one life sentence per victim), without possibility of parole for 175 years, on August 18, 2005. This includes nine life sentences each without the possibility for parole for 15 years, and one life sentence without the possibility for parole for 40 years.

Henry McCarty better known as Billy the Kid but also known by the alias William Henry Bonney, was reputed to have killed 21 men, one for each year of his life. He also may have been 21 at the time of his death. Born November 23, 1859 Allen Street, Manhattan Island, New York USA ... Died July 14, 1881 Fort Sumner, New Mexico USA On September 23, 1875. . McCarty was jailed in the town of Mesilla while waiting for his April 1881 trial. Deliberation took exactly one day and McCarty was convicted of murdering Sheriff William Brady and on April 13 he was sentenced by Judge Warren Bristol to hang. His execution was scheduled for May 13 and he was sent to Lincoln to await this date. He was under guard by James Bell and Robert Ollinger on the top floor of the building formerly known as the House before and during the Lincoln County War. On April 28 McCarty somehow escaped and killed both of his guards while Garrett was out of town. It is not known how McCarty was able to do this, but it is widely believed that a friend or Regulator sympathizer left a pistol in the privy that one of the guards escorted McCarty to daily. It is thought that McCarty shot Bell with the pistol when McCarty reached the top of a flight of stairs in the House. After that, the story goes, McCarty stole Ollinger's 10-gauge double barrel shotgun and waited for Ollinger by the window in the room he was being held in. From here McCarty is thought to have shot Ollinger as he paused from running across the street upon hearing "Hello Bob" from McCarty. This would be, however, McCarty's last escape; Pat Garrett and two of his remaining deputies were questioning McCarty's friend, Pete Maxwell on July 14, 1881 in Maxwell's darkened bedroom in Old Fort Sumner, when McCarty unexpectedly entered the room. The Kid didn't recognize Garret in the poor lighting conditions and asked "Quien es? Quien es" (Spanish for "Who is it? Who is it?), to which Garret responded with two shots from his revolver (one struck McCarty's heart). Henry McCarty, the infamous "Billy the Kid", was buried in a plot in-between his dead friends Tom O'Folliard and Charlie Bowdre the next day at Fort Sumner's cemetery. *2 people that claimed to be the real "Billy the Kid" * Brushy Bill In 1950, a lawyer named William Morrison located a man in West Texas named Ollie P. Roberts, nicknamed Brushy Bill, who claimed to be the actual Billy the Kid, and that he indeed had not been shot and killed by Pat Garrett in 1881. * John Miller Another claimant to the title of Billy the Kid, thought less likely to be a hoax, was John Miller, whose family claimed him posthumously to be Billy the Kid in 1938. Miller was buried at the state-owned Pioneers' Home Cemetery in Prescott, Arizona. Tom Sullivan, former sheriff of Lincoln County, and Steve Sederwall, former mayor of Capitan, disenterred the bones of John Miller in May 2005. DNA samples from the remains were sent to a lab in Dallas, Texas to be compared against traces of blood taken from a bench that was believed to be the one McCarty's body was placed .. he was shot to death. The pair had been searching for the physical remains of McCarty since 2003, beginning in Fort Sumner, New Mexico and eventually ending up in Arizona. To date, no results of the DNA tests have been made public. The North Hollywood shootout was an armed confrontation between two heavily-armed and armored bank robbers (Larry Eugene Phillips, Jr. and Emil Dechebal Matasareanu) and patrol and SWAT officers of the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) on February 28, 1997,

At 9:15 a.m., Phillips and Matasareanu robbed a Bank of America branch office in North Hollywood, Los Angeles, California. Ten employees and thirty-two customers were present during the robbery. Phillips and Matasareanu managed to steal USD $303,305. One customer was injured when one of the robbers hit him in the head with the stock of an AK-47. A citizen passing near the bank noticed the robbery inside and flagged down a patrol car, Unit 15A83 of the Los Angeles Police Department.

Inside the bank, Phillips kept watch in the lobby while Matasareanu forced the manager to open the vault and fill a suitcase with over $300,000. However, the two men had expected more. What they didn't know was that their previous robberies had caused the banks in the area to carry less cash on hand, thereby cutting losses.

Matasareanu suddenly began backing the car out of the parking space he had been idling it in. Phillips, seeing this, grabbed his extra ammo drums off a car hood where he had been keeping them. Emil Matasareanu drove the car up to the side of the bank and started shooting bursts at the police officers trying to stop them, while Phillips hurried over to him, firing as he went. As he approached the trunk of the car, Phillips ducked to avoid gunfire and then emptied the magazine, reloaded, and continued firing. A round struck his shoulder, immobilizing his left arm and most of the left side of his torso. But Phillips continued to fire the three-foot-long rifle one-handed. He moved to the door of the car twice, but each time he returned to the trunk. Finally he tossed the HK-91 into the trunk and armed himself with a Norinco Chinese Type 56 Assault Rifle.

Meanwhile, Phillips was on the move again. He passed within feet of an abandoned police car, and began to fire again. However, Phillips suddenly realized that his AK-47 was jammed. An ejected shell casing had caught in the weapon, resulting in a stovepipe jam and Phillips was apparently unable to clear it. He dropped the gun on the ground and pulled a 9mm Beretta 92F from his jacket. He fired two rounds with this, then walked out from the cover of the trailer and fired again. As he fired a fourth shot, a round struck his hand, causing him to fumble and drop the pistol. Phillips bent down, picked up the handgun, and shot himself in the head. He died instantly. Several rounds from other LAPD officers also struck him after he went down. The shootout resulted in the wounding of fourteen people (twelve police officers and two civilians) and the deaths of both bank robbers. only the suspects were killed, the sheer number of injuries made this one of the bloodiest single cases of violent crime in the 1990s, and one of the most significant single bank robberies of the 20th century. The Beltway sniper attacks took place during three weeks of October 2002 in the Mid-Atlantic United States. Ten people were killed and three others critically injured by spree killers in and around Washington, D.C., in various locations throughout the Baltimore-Washington Metropolitan Area and along Interstate 95 in Virginia. It was later learned that the rampage apparently began the month before with murders and robbery in Louisiana, Alabama, and Georgia which had resulted in 3 deaths. An earlier spree by the pair had killed victims in California, Arizona, and Texas, for a total of 16 deaths so far. The shootings finally ended on October 24, when police arrested John Allen Muhammad and Lee Boyd Malvo at a highway rest area off of Interstate 70 near Myersville, Maryland, after receiving two telephone tips from a trucker and another alert motorist. It was later learned that the three-week-long rampage was motivated, at least in part, by a plot to extort $10 million from the U.S. government. Charges in Virginia against the pair were tried first. In 2004, Muhammad was sentenced to death and Malvo to several sentences of life imprisonment without parole in Virginia for several of the attacks. Many more criminal charges are pending against each man, although a U.S. Supreme Court ruling in Roper v. Simmons in March 2005 effectively precludes a death penalty for Malvo. Muhammad's death penalty was affirmed by the Virginia Supreme Court on April 22, 2005. While Muhammad was awaiting execution in Virginia, in the fall of 2005, he and Malvo were extradited to Montgomery County, Maryland where the most incidents took place to face trial, after which, they will be returned to Virginia under an agreement between the two states. A Bushmaster .223-caliber rifle, a scope, a tripod and a "sniper platform" were recovered from the suspects' 1990 Chevrolet Caprice, sources said. All the victims -- 10 dead, three wounded since October 2 -- were hit by a single .223-caliber bullet. (The weapon) The trunk of the Caprice had been converted into a sniper's nest, sources say. A senior law enforcement described the Caprice as a "killing machine," with two holes in the trunk, one for the rifle, the other for the scope. That way, shots could be fired without opening the trunk, the source said. The back seat could fold down, enabling a potential shooter to stretch out in the back without stepping foot outside, the source said Theodore John "Ted" Kaczynski was born May 22, 1942 also known as the Unabomber, an anarchist best known for his campaign of mail bombings. Kaczynski became infamous for having sent bombs to several universities and airlines from the late 1970s through early 1990s, killing three and wounding 23 Kaczynski is serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole in ADX Florence, the Federal ADX Supermax prison in Florence, Colorado. this was his house where FBI found him a one-room, 10-by-12 plywood shack situated on 1.4 acres of Montana forest. The cabin had no electricity or plumbing. He used a manual typewriter It took the FBI 17 years to track the guy down, and they never would have caught him if his brother hadn't recognized Ted's writing and squealed. The Unabomber was an "FBI code name given to supposedly solo anti-technology serial killer whose bombs killed three and injured twenty-three others over a 22-year period. Dubbed "Unabomber" because his first targets were related to universities (as well as airlines), the bomber managed to elude a combined investigation by the U.S. Postal Service, the FBI, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms, as his devices--usually sent through the mail--struck nationwide targets whose only apparent connection was to technology.
