About Me

Like a mythical siren luring explorers close to her side, Kansas City’s far beyond frail has been drawing listeners near with an irresistible blend of alternative-folk music, poetic lyrics and stunning female vocals.Formed in 2002 on Martha’s Vineyard, a small island off the coast of Cape Cod, far beyond frail is comprised of Sharlynn Verner and David Cecil. In 2004, the band relocated to Kansas City, taking with them the surreal ambiance that their time spent on the oft-romanticized, East Coast island had instilled in their sound. With the ability to hold listeners captive, either live or recorded, far beyond frail exudes underground intensity with the polish and skill of a mainstream band. Simultaneously tragic and hopeful, they stand poised to achieve a sound that captures firsthand life experience in its truest form.
'Hope, Volume One' is a compilation CD with proceeds benefiting Suicide Awareness Voices of Education (SAVE) and features far beyond frail’s "Portland", as well as Joanne & Johnny Cash, Lisa Loeb, Charlotte Martin, and Kevin Max. the train, the river, and the tour

I’m grateful when I can’t sleep through the night, because it’s only in the very early hours of the morning that the hum of the city lights subsides enough to hear the trains rumblin...

new year in an old place

{if we clean it up all day} New Years Eve is me, as a child, staring at Christ on a cross and knowing that, somehow, it all comes at a price. I guess Ive never been able to accept a fresh start....
