D.J.C. grew up on the west side of Chicago in the ABLA Housing Projects (Tha Village). I began my musical journey hanging out with Chicago's own DJ.L & his crew, flowing lyrics at parties, and battling in the streets of Chicago against other rap crews. I entered local and state talent showcases, taking first place two years in a row, I won many showcases and I performed on stage with many great Chicago MC's. I was featured on a compilation cd released by Bad Dog Recording with my crew I co founded A.M.N. I have also done many independent projects some under my own independent label 501 Muzic Group, a label I co founded with my brother Chill.I have been on tv, radio every local news media and news paper, not only for my musical talent, I am also a parent of a crime victim, my two year old daughter was caught in the crossfire of a gang shooting in 1993. which led me to record songs such as crossfire a song that was featured on WGCI Radio Chicago. I have spoken at violence against our youth rallies, I was featured in a 20/20 News segment on violence against our youth. I am inspired by & work with organizations like Fred Hampton Foundation, M.O.M.S. Man Up, Young Lions, N.A.A.C.P. Ceasefire, Purpose Over Pain, and KRS 1 stop the violence movement. my hard work and my music reflect our need for change .That is why my new cd Purpose Over Pain is POSITIVE, MOTIVATIONAL & INSPIRATIONAL MUSIC.Masthead Banner Made with MyBannerMaker.com!
