About Me

Gateway Community Services, a non-profit organization based in East Lansing Michigan, developed and implemented it's Violence Intervention & Prevention Project in 2003, working with local schools and community organizations.The Violence Intervention & Prevention Project was created to serve as a vehicle for individuals, organizations and systems to work together for the prevention of violence.The goal of VIP is to promote peaceful, thoughtful, and non-aggressive means by which young people can learn to channel and communicate anger and frustration.VIP is dedicated to the prevention of all forms of interpersonal violence, including family violence (child, partner, and elder abuse), sexual assault, youth violence, and hate crimes.
