Playing tennis!! Running (when my ankle permits). Newport, RI-I haven't been back in 8 years and it sucks. Reading. Baseball games. Urban planning & international development. Int'l affairs and current events. Riding my bike through different neighborhoods in the city. Playing my bass. Listening to music. Diversity. NPR. My dog, Ellie, cracks me up.
The Smiths, Wilco (I've loved this band since I was 14-they're so good), U2, BLOW, Modest Mouse, Built to Spill, That Statue Moved, Dismemberment Plan, Spoon, Sufjan Stevens, Bob Dylan, Curtis Mayfield, Belle and Sebastian, Johnny Cash, Appleseed Cast, Son Volt, Led Zepplin, the Shins, Pixies, Broken Social Scene, the Liars, Morrissey, Arcade Fire, Pink Floyd, Beach Boys, Bruck, Brahms and Bluegrass bands on a Sunday afternoon in Lawrence, Kansas.....The program "Trail Mix" on NPR in Lawrence plays the best mix of bluegrass.
Anything from Waiting for Guffman to documentaries to Iranian films on women issues...but i typically would rather do just about anything than sit & watch a movie.

Although it may seem cliche-I for some reason read "On the Road" every June and have to say it is my favorite book. Also like: "From Beirut to Jerusalem," "Savage Inequalities," "The Man in the Gray Flannel Suit," "When Work Disappears-the world of the new urban poor," "Game of Shadows," "Elmer Gantry," "From the Terrace," "The Idiot," "Great Gatsby," and "East of Eden".
