Go west young man!!!!

About Me

"I've had good days, and bad days, and going half mad days, I used to go crazy for days at a time"I'm from this little town in south-eastern Wisconsin called Milwaukee:) I came to NYC two years ago searching for myself? Purpose? Fun? Culture? Maybe I'm just looking for the right questions...I'm still looking. Part of my inspiration for leaving Milwaukee was a song I wrote while still living in Milwaukee called "Not Home"...sweet title huh? "The more I learn, the less I wish I knew," is a lyric that describes how I feel about life sometimes. Sometimes I miss being 18 because that's when I knew it all. Life has taught me to be much more humble, as it tends to do. I'm not a conformist. That sounds odd coming from a guy who's an accountant, but I really enjoy marching to the beat of my own drummer. In my opinion, too many people simply walk in line...like the rats following the pied piper through the streets. Not that there is anything wrong with wanting to conform and fit in, but I question the piper and am not afraid to make up my own words to an old song. OK this has gotten too long...bottom line, I'm a rock and roll man at heart with a propensity for using big words and questioning authority:)
I edited my profile with Thomas’ Myspace Editor V3.6 !

My Interests

Playing my guitar, listening to music, books, football (GB Packers), hockey, baseball, basketball, disc golf (if you don't know you should find out), politics, video games, fishing, hiking, rock climbing, movies, the theatre (I think I'm one of the few people left who actually likes musicals)....oh yeah, and pro wrestling...I know, I know..but whatever...I'm a child that never wanted to grow up, what can I say??

I'd like to meet:

I have so many unanswered questions that this could go on for quite a while. I would have definately loved to have met Ghandi and learn whatever I could from him. OK, so I've already met Jimmy Buffett, but I'd love to again. My most super-fun golf foursome would be Adam Sandler, Robin Williams and Shaq. I'd like to meet our president George W. Bush and ask him, "What the fuck?!?!?!?" I'd also like to meet god, so I could ask, "What the fuck?!?!?!" Most of all, I'd like to meet whoever put the 'bop' in the 'bop-shoo-wop-shoo-wop' and the 'ram' in the'ramma-lamma-ding-dong,' just because, hey, what a concept!!!

Music:

OK, this could get lengthy.....Pearl Jam, Jimmy Buffett, Phish, Ben Harper, Galactic, Radiohead, Talking Heads, Grateful Dead, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Iron & Wine, Ryan Adams, Damien Rice, Bob Marley, Robert Randolph, Bela Fleck, Led Zepplin, Queen, Allman Brothers, Bob Dylan, Elvis, Beatles, Ray Charles, Temptations, Smokey Robinson, Counting Crows, Black Crowes, Alice In Chains, Neil Young, Pink Floyd, Flaming Lips, The Dorrs, Tom Petty, Keller Williams, Oakenfold, Chemical Brothers, George Clinton, Paul Simon, anything with Les Claypool, Jeff Buckley, Wilco, Garth Brooks, Widespread Panic, Jackson Browne, John Denver, Coltrane, Thelonious Monk, Prince, Hendrix, Grandaddy, Sinatra, Michael Jackson, Jack Johnson....and on, and on and on....And here's a sweet John Butler song. My favorite song of the week:)..Eddie Vedder and Ben Harper .. width="425" height="350" ..And for anyone at all bothered by the current escalation of violence in the world....and you're not sure what the answer is...or if there even is an answer...well, it this song won't answer those questions, but I agree with it in the sense that the direction we're currently going is not the answer.......... width="425" height="350" ..

Movies:

Let's get the geek out of me first - Star Wars AND Star Trek. Superman, Batman, X-Men, Spiderman...BloodsportGandhi, Shawshank Redemption, Magnolia, Stripes, Caddyshack, Back to the Future, Goodfellsa, Memento, Clerks, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Indiana Jones, My Dog Skip, Good Morning Vietnam, Scarface, The Princess Bride, Kung Fu Hustle, Enter the Dragon, Fight Club, Hero, Best in Show, A Mighty Wind......

Television:

Smallville, wrestling, Family Guy, Boondocks, War at Home, West Wing....Some humor from my boys on Boondocks......... width="425" height="350" ..

Books:

Anything by Mark Twain, especially Following the Equator...or Life on the Mississippi. I also believe that everyone should read some Vonnegut, I recommend Timequake, Bluebeard, Slaughterhouse Five & The Sirens of Titan. Although I don't think I would have ever enjoyed his company, Ernest Hemmingway, yeah, he's awsome - Old Man and the Sea, To Have and Have Not and Farewell to Arms. Wilde's The Picture of Dorian Gray American God's by Neil Gaiman (also the entire Sandman series by Gaiman)... Rilke's Letter's to a Young Poet The Art of War by Szu amongst others.... Gilgamesh, On the Road, The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test, R.A. Salvatore's Dark Elf series, Tha Last Picture Show, Tales from Margaritaville, Lord of the Rings, The Catcher in the Rye, V for Vendetta, Watchmen, Animal Farm, The Alchemist.... ** Siddartha** The Stand, Battlefield Earth (Yes I know the movie is terrible, but the book is...well epic) And for history Anything by Karen Armstrong, my fav's are A History of God and Holy War. Also, The History of the American People by Paul Johnson History of the English Speaking People by Winston Churchill and of course all things Superman, Green Lantern and Dr. Strange.OK, I think that's enough books, I guess the point is that I like to read...

Heroes:

Anyone who isn't afraid to speak up for what he/she believes in.... People who never stop dreaming.... People who never stop dancing.... Superman, because come on...he's super, you know? Neil Young, see Superman.... You know as I'm typing this, I'm thinking to myself, "What the hell am I talking about??" Heroes? Now the inner me is coming out and I can hardly believe I'm listing heroes?!?!? But the stubborn part of me wants to finish it..somehow....but now I'm on a little rant. The fact that I have been consuming during this writing process is probably not helping matters any. Now there was no reason to say that...right?? Right! So what is a hero? Really?? Someone you admire? Well I admire way too many people to list... Someone who's life you would like to emulate?? Well somehow, I don't think Hugh Hephner is an appropriate hero to list....Aw who am I kidding, Heph, you're totally in!! How about someone who you really would like to just emulate one aspect of? Like to be as resolute as Ghandi? To not give a fuck and treat life like a giant party like Jim Morrison? Or how about just your buddy who willingly sacrafices a very promising night on the town just because they had $5 Long Islands until midnight, you showed up at 11:25, and really felt the need to get you money's worth...proceeded making quite a mess, in a number of different places...and this cat carried you out, drove you home and made sure you didn't kill yourself on the way up the stairs...and remembered which apartment you lived in....and helped you remember how keys work....AND convinced you that dancing on the roof naked would not make you famous and would probably be hazardous to your health...and then reminded you where your bedroom was........well that's a short but sweet list...although probably longer than it should be:) OK, so I really just wanted to write in the hero box because nobody ever really does and I kind of felt bad for poor "Heroes." The neglected space.... That just keeps hanging out...doing it's thing.... But seriously though...I gotta give props to Supes....I mean, he can fly...burn things just by looking at them mean....run so fast you can't see him....bulett/missle/nuclear warhead proof...And he doesn't just take over?!?!?! I have to admit...if I was Superman...I might just be running things...you know?? Alright, that's enough...now I'm reaching. done enough sesh peaceAnd wouldn't you know it.....totally Superman! (GL is cool too!)
