Music, travel, movies, books, art. I enjoy spending my time with creative people that make me think as well as being around friends that make my laugh so hard I snort like a pig!!
If you viewed my pictures you probably figured out that I have a bit of a fixation with The Cult which dates way back to the 80's. I have been fortunate enough to meet Ian Astbury a handful of times. Each time I have met him he was such a kind and considerate person, what a nice guy! So other than Ian, I guess there really is no one in particular that I would like to meet other than people who are fun to be around, who don't take themselves too seriously, who are willing to make a fool out of themselves for the sake of a good laugh, who are spontaneous, I love people who are willing to try something different and not afraid to step outside the security of their own little box.
Where to begin, I must admit I am stuck in a time warp.....I love almost all music from the 80's (big hair bands, metal heads, goth, new wave, pop muzik...you name it....I love it.) Again, my all time favorite band, hands down is The Cult (if you haven't figured that out yet.) I also love rockabilly/old school country/americana music. I frequent The Skylark Lounge here in Denver which is where you can catch some great rockabilly shows. Other than that I love just about all types of music, there is very little that I don't like. Some recent concerts I have been to in the last couple years are: Motley Crue, Nine Inch Nails, Chris Isaak, Live, The Paladins, Big Sandy and His Fly-Rite Boys, Ministry, Young Dubliners, The Cramps, The Doors of the 21st Century (have to support Ian), Genitorturers (my husband's band Hell Camino opened for them), Killing Joke, Thrill Kill Kult (Hell Camino opened for TKK as well), Nick Cave, Social Distortion, Korn, Berlin, Texas Terri and The Stiff Ones, Exene Cervenka and The Original Sinners, Sisters of Mercy, She Wants Revenge and most recently at Red Rocks I saw Social D, Tiger Army & The Supsersuckers. I have been to hundreds of local shows, I'm a big supporter of local music, I try to make it to one local show every week to show my support for all those talented musicians here in D-Town (including my husband's new band Sin Factory).
I love all those 80's teen agnst flicks like Valley Girl (my fave), Sixteen Candles, Pretty In Pink, Breakfast Club, Some Kind of Wonderful, you get the idea. I also love horror movies, some favorites are The Exorcist, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Devil's Rejects, Dawn of The Dead and a recent favorite is 28 Days Later...loved it!! On a serious note, some of my favorites would be Braveheart, The English Patient, The Usual Suspects and In the Name of Father.
I don't watch much television, if I do it's usually the same handful of shows (Lost, The Office, My Name is Earl, The Amazing Race and any true crime show like Forensic Files or The First 48.)
