I enjoy Arrested Development, Americas Next Top Bulimic, and Wifeswap as well. the Tyra show is equally as horrible and sometimes i am tempted to miss subbing to watch it......
Books:
My favorite book is The Giver by Lois Lowery. Its a young adult book that i have re read countless times. It is set in the future when society has evolved to a monoculture of monotonous beings that lack emotion or attachment. In this society each child is placed with a father and a mother. Everyone has a specified job; there are birthers, elder care takers, food deliverers, school teachers and a job called "the giver". A new giver is chosen when the old one is about to turn 80 years old. The giver's job is to remember all that the society has forgotten; fear, love, cold, warmth, excitment, celebration, pain, suffering and war. The protagonist of the story is a boy who is chosen to be the next giver. It is a beautiful and enlightening book. My copy is ratty and well loved. Other favorites: The Life of Pi, Even Cowgirls Get the Blues, Where the Wild Things Are, Fried Green Tomatos, Everything Is Illuminated, ShopGirl, Anything by David Sidaris, 1984.
