I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

3rd & 5th Generation Chinese American who speaks WAY more Spanish than Chinese...born & raised in the Bay Area w/ a brief stint in SB...laid back most of the time... not your typical snake or leo...patient...i teach b/c i care. it's definitely not for the $$$...i recognize that i can't save them all, but if i can connect with some and make a difference that will be enough. serve as a good sounding board that provides feedback and incite... open minded...ideas are more liberal than conservative. can't stand ignorant fans that surround me @ warriors games. thank goodness for ipods!
for my students...here's the course site, www.geocities.com/mskjann , so you can check your grades
food for thought
use school to control your future. you can either be the person taking orders or the one giving orders. when your beauty or athleticism fades, you'll still have your knowledge.
don't be afraid to ask for help or accept help. you don't need to like everybody, but you should treat them with respect and be tolerant or just don't talk to them. life moves to fast to hold grudges. so just let it go & move on. there isn't any real gain in putting someone else down and it makes you look like an ignorant idiot. follow the golden rule. have a conscience and be happy with who you are & your actions @ the end of the day.

My Interests

watching the Warriors & Giants, hiking, waterfalls, post-WWII history, gymnastics (Blaine Wilson rocks! woo hoo he's coming out of retirement!), trying to solve crossword puzzles to prevent dementia, learning new things, sleep & lots of it, supporting my students @ their games. Go Oilers!!! SB & Pismo....travelling new places.....the beach...pretending i'm a videographer.....being a typical asian and taking pictures...there's nothing like a good pedicure.

I'd like to meet:

old friends....reunite with my coquina loving St. Auggie friends

Music:

depends on the mood...includes a wide range of genres from hip hop to pop to country and then some...reflects growing up in the 80s/Richmond and going to school in pinole. if it has a good beat, i'll probably dig it. faves = tim mcgraw, jc chasez, run dmc

Movies:

all time fave = GreaseMy Kids during their thing & making sure they graduate.

Television:

the OC, one tree hill, grey's anatomy, 24, nip/tuck, my boys, entourage, las vegas sportscenter, whatever season (9ers, giants or warriors) it is, i'll be watching the game. seeing my kids on high school sports focus & cal-hi sports.

Books:

Buddha Baby & Dim Sum of All things by Kim Wong Keltner, meg cabot's adult books, history books, anything involving ethnic/cultural studies.
