About Me
Hot tracks, “Fade away†and “White Roses†already heard on
“Queer Eye For The Straight Guy†and Bob Costa’s HBO seriesScott Cresswell has released a 10-song set of soaring, melodic, heartfelt songs titled “Souvenirs and Photographs†aimed squarely at listeners of modern adult contemporary rock and impeccably written, performed and produced largely by the Mount Kisco, NY-based Cresswell. The words are poetic, sharp, full of hope, sadness and salvation, and are coupled with melodies that hit you straight in the heart and soul.Creswell had been quietly cooking up the lyrics, music and arrangements for “Souvenirs and Photographs†while in aid of other musician’s (and ex-President of the United States’) projects. During his recent years working as a producer, mixer, engineer and musician, Cresswell spent hours eyeball to eyeball with Bill Clinton engineering the book-on-tape version of “My Life†and the Grammy-winning “Still Me†by Christopher Reeve as well engineering or mixing countless recordings by such legendary names as Carlos Santana and jazz legends John Scofield, Dave Valentine and Danny Gottlieb. Buzz has spread already on “Souvenirs and Photographsâ€, which took approximately six months to record; two tracks, “Fade away†and “White Roses†have already been heard on “Queer Eye For The Straight Guy†and Bob Costa’s HBO series.ABOUT THE ALBUMSouvenirs and Photographs’ lyrical themes range from the expansive “White Roses†accepting that life doesn’t always hand you what you want to “Souvenirs & Photographsâ€s comforting message that all will eventually be fine in the end to “On Our Wayâ€s credo that happiness is simple. Cresswell croons the lines, “Suitcase full of little green men from Mars/Eyes wide like a cracked-out movie star/Happiness at the bottom of another drink/Moving too fast to ever stop and think†on “Let Me Go†and other songs with all the mastery of an artist burning to tell his story to the world. “Souveniers and Photographs†tells that story in an appealing, passionate way.ABOUT SCOTT CRESSWELLScott Cresswell was born in the Bronx, NY, first learned to play guitar at the age of 15, and attended SUNY Purchase College of Music where he studied composition. He began working in studios at the age of 18 playing session guitar and recording and eventually branched out to everything from feature animation films (Ice Age, Robots) to television and Spoken Word. He sometimes listens to Neil Finn and RadioHead, which might be considered influences. He's been writing for 10 years, mainly for the cathartic expression and love of creating music. â€Certainly not for the money!†he says. “And let's not forget the applause.†With the release of “Souvenirs and Photographsâ€, that should soon change.
